Jesse Ventura Kicks ass!!!
He's on Larry King right now. Questioning Palin's commitment to abtinence-based education when it so clearly hasn't worked in her family, and comparing the GOP war war propaganda to Hermann Goering. He may not be a Democrat but he's my kind of independent.

Unless Jessie is making a lot more money that I assume.

9. Jesse may earn above $250,000 and will pay more. But 80% of us will pay less.
So him bloviating about how awful it is that Obama's gonna raise taxes is horrible and so incorrect for the majority of Americans and the majority of businesses.

4. What are you talking about?
I flipped over to CNN for 30 seconds and all I heard was him bashing Obama based on the tired, old (and patently false) "he's going to raise my taxes" crap.

7. Obviously you missed the first part then
People do talk about more than one thing in interviews you know. I did not say he's a Democrat, and don't agree with him on everything; but frankly I think he grumbles about Obama raising taxes as a matter of form in order to be able to launch his broadsides at the GOP, who really piss him off.

Don't like it? Not my problem.

13. I know. Not railing against you. Just disapointed at King's piss poor panel.
Not happy that he had 4 professional republican slime peddlers on last week, and he comes in with a Libertarian/Independent and a comedian, and calls that the "Democratic" response.

PS, Jesse did kick butt, until he starts repeating the same old crappy lines about Democrats and taxes.

17. True. In fairness, they threw out their schedule because of the hurricane
and now they don't have a proper panel instead. They did explain this in advance, when they were under the impression that Hurricane Gustav was going to be a big catastrophe 36 hours ago.

8. It's amazing how much we agree with independents except when it comes to how
we feel government is there to help and true independents they feel we as a people should without government help.

You know... in order to form a more perfect union... and don't even get them started on what the general welfare means.

14. I can disagree with but still respect independents like Ventura, especially compared to the GOP.
It is risky for Obama to propose exctending government's remit during a time of recession. I think he's right and that it will come be seen as an FDR-like move, but a lot of people would argue for belt-tightening. Ventura strikes me as someone I could disagree with about politics for a whole evening with out either of us getting angry over it. The GOP, on the other hand, make me want to commit physical violence and are really nasty, slimy people.

11. Ventura may have some observations that are on the mark but he's still a loony libertarian
Those guys give me the willies. At least the Repubs think government should do something. Its just the wrong things. Libertarians are a hair away from anarchists.

15. I'll take anarchists over fascists any day.
The worst thing I can say about libertarians like Ventura is that they'd let people starve on their doorstep. The GOP, on the other hand, would use them for home heating.

...hated him as governor, but i'll take those shots at the Repugs. wing nuts'll listen to jesse. mn did put him in office, after all. killer line here, by the way:

"The worst thing I can say about libertarians like Ventura is that they'd let people starve on their doorstep. The GOP, on the other hand, would use them for home heating."

and i agree: we've got to lock down the lies about Obama's tax plan. latest entry at FactCheck.org calls mccain lying about this in his ads.
