Jilted lovers, spouses, boyfriends and girlfriends have a tough act to follow. Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman is the new king of vindictiveness. This guy can hold a grudge like no one before him. I thought my first wife was bad. Joe Lieberman, denied his party's nomination for President in 2004 and his party's nomination for Senate in 2006, has been on a two year rampage against the Democratic Party. He doesn't care how obvious he is, he doesn't care how ridiculous he looks or the beliefs on which he has turned his back. He wants the Democratic Party to pay.
If you think I am engaging in hyperbole, think about this. In his quest for revenge, Senator Lieberman is willing to draw obvious parallels between himself, and crazy "I want to challenge you to a duel" Zell Miller. Former Georgia Senator Zell Miller was the last Benedict Arnold to appear at a Republican National Convention and smear his party and his party's Presidential nominee, after which, under some direct questioning by Chris Matthews of MSNBC, Miller said he wished times were still such that a man could challenge another man to a duel. You have to want revenge REALLY BADLY if you are willing to be compared to THAT guy!
Why do I get the feeling that when he was a kid, Lieberman was the kind of person that would take his ball and go home when the rest of the kids didn't want to play the same game he wanted to play? We all had one of THOSE kids in our neighborhood. I've been trying to find modern people to whom to compare Senator Lieberman's vindictiveness but I cannot think of any. I think you have to go back to biblical and mythological characters to do so. Cain's jealousy of Abel, Medea's wrath at her cheating husband (she killed their children to get back at him). THOSE are the kind of people that come to mind when I think of Joe Lieberman.
I haven't been back to synagogue much since my Bar Mitzvah and in either case, I wouldn’t know much about Orthodox Shul's, but I was wondering, do they have interventions there? If so, can we get one for Joe? B'vakasha?
It isn’t as if the things that have happened to Joe weren’t his fault. I might have more sympathy for him if they were. Joe, you supported a war that was started on false pretenses and you have NEVER apologized for that. We Democrats do not appreciate people who start unnecessary wars. You had to have known that going in. That’s why you had no support when you ran for President in 2004 and that is why you didn’t win the Democratic nomination for your 2006 Connecticut Senate race. You did this to yourself. Take responsibility for your actions and stop this silly two year long vendetta against the Democratic Party. We all see it for what it is and it makes you look ridiculous.
