Enquirer: Palin Demanded Daughter have Shotgun Wedding
PALIN WAR: TEEN PREGO CRISIS

Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin attempted to quietly have her daughter Bristol get married before news of her pregnancy leaked out, the NATIONAL ENQUIRER is reporting exclusively in its new issue.

Palin planned for the wedding to take place right after the Republican National Convention and then she was going to announce the pregnancy.

But Bristol, 17, refused to go along with the plan and that sparked a mother-daughter showdown over the failed coverup.

The ultra-conservative governor’s announcement about her daughter’s pregnancy came hours after The ENQUIRER informed her representatives and family members of Levi Johnston, the father of Bristol’s child, that we were aware of the pregnancy and were going to break the news.

In a preemptive strike Palin released the news, creating political shockwaves.

108. David Letterman sure expressed his feelings tonight.
I can't remember the exact words, but this is close, if you missed it. He made some jokes about Palin, then made one very serious and cutting remark, said that he would hope that someone who can run the country could take five minutes to speak to her teen-agers about birth control. We ran it back to make sure that's what he said, but he did... :-)

He doesn't exactly hate republicans, seems to get on fine with John McCain, but doesn't suffer fools and hypocrites gladly, which you'll know if you saw his interviews with O'Reilly...x(

He's also had both Clintons on several times and seemed pretty impressed with them, especially Bill, who explained what had happened on 9/11, shortly after the awful event, with such clarity and knowledge that Letterman said something about Bill Clinton still being our president and the audience went wild... :D

26. I assumed that from the start. It's the fundie way of life.
It's a sick, sick culture.

I know a fundie who brags about how proud he is of his son because his son went to the father of the woman he wanted to marry, and got approval of the marriage, BEFORE he ever asked his "intended." You have to wonder if it was even an option for her to say no, once he had dear old dad's approval.

Has anybody said anything about what the boy or his family want? I mean, they're 18 and 17. I think that's old enough for them to make their own decisions. Maybe they just want to put the baby up for adoption and be done with it.

11. To compound one mistake (teenage pregnancy)
with another (teenage shotgun wedding) is tragic beyond belief. Way back when, I Knew several girls in catholic hs who "disappeared" for a time to their aunt and uncle's in another state, or to a "vacation" in europe, but NONE ever had a rush, rush shotgun wedding. They all came back and finished hs and even went on to college, back in the 1960s.

Not teaching her child about birth control methods.

And getting pregnant is not the worst thing that can happen when a teen doesn't know about condoms and such. I plan to make sure my child knows about these things to protect her from AIDS.

Shotguns are short- to mid- range guns. They use rifles for wantonly killing important predators from aircraft.

The ENQUIRER has also learned that Palin’s family is embroiled in a vicious war that is now exposing her darkest secrets, threatening to destroy her political career.

Palin’s ongoing war with her ex brother-in-law Mike Wooten, a state trooper, has caused multiple sources to come forward with shocking allegations about the governor.

The MSM should have been doing their fucking jobs and vetting her instead of falling all over themselves to gush all over her about her special needs baby and her attractiveness and her "qualifications." What's sad is that it took the National fucking Enquirer to get them to do it and that's because they scooped them on the Edwards story.

45. NO ENQUIRER/TABLOID STUFF PLEASE...DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY WRITE ABOUT OBAMA?
We don't need nationalenquirer links please...be responsible people. There are REAL numbers and issues that we can win on. Resorting to the tabloid shit is so unecessary this year.

They loved it when they disclosed John Edwards affair and possible out-of-wetlock child.

Those that live by tabloid journalism, shall die by it.

109. cwydro, interesting isn't it...
I never posted in any of these many, many threads, National Enquirer & Edwards, because, sadly, I believed they were accurate. On occasion, they do it get right. Think they just might get this current issue right also.

The shotgun wedding story made sense to me after reading a little about Levi. How long might the wedding last? He's about to get National attention...he'll gobble this up and probably help extend the marriage. Then again, they just might need to keep the shotgun loaded.

Naiveté and fickleness runs rampant...

112. Well it's Gawd's Will, y'know. Says right there in Leviticus or something: She that gets knocked up
... shall have a quickie marriage. Or wear a Scarlet Letter. Or both.

Of *course* Bristol "chose" to keep the baby and get married to this jerk. You think her parents would have it any other way?

Curiously, I wonder about that boy. Is he going to resist the tremendous pressure from the Palins? Is he going to tell them to take a flying leap? Will the State of Alaska garnish his wages for child support for the rest of his life?

The kids were stupid -- no condom, no nothin'. I'll bet she was raised to believe that only bad girls and sluts use birth control, but she's not a slut, she just gets carried away by passionate love now and then, something you can't plan on. Sluts plan to have sex. Good girls don't plan on it, it just happens.

I know, it gives me a headache too. It's a very 1950s type of thinking.

Hekate
