Perhaps, just maybe they KNOW Obama/Biden was going to win and there was no way to steal it. That Bush screwed up so royally there isn't a prayer for them to win. Rather than put in their better people they chose someone who's career is almost over due to age anyway (McCain) - No one of quality really wanting to go down in flames with the Gaffe Master they put in one of the scuzziest third strings they could find.

Maybe she WAS vetted, but not vetted to win- vetted to lose. Never EVER underestimate the "Power of the darkside", they tend to think in 12-16 year blocks. I know, because I'm a reformed voter. (THANK GOODNESS I CAME TO MY SENSES)

This leaves 2012 open for a "Resurgence of the GOP" candidate, that way they can restrain the "damage" to four years in their minds.

They (R's) KNOW that the recession is just beginning. That these waves in the economy are going to continue to get worse due to the domino effect. They also KNOW that the sitting president gets blamed for the backsplash of the last two years of the former presidents term. (Backsplash= Ramifications of actions taken that have a long shelf life before being seen in homes/communities etc)

Obama is going to have a HUGE mess on his hands and it will take the majority of his first term to begin to set things straight. Maybe the R's are counting on how fickle the American public is, and how discontent they may be that it's not being fixed "right now"

If this is the case, we can't just be dedicated now, we have to CONTINUE throughout the first term and make damn sure that he gets re-elected. Better safe than sorry I say.
