Bush TANG service fair game, too, cuz he HAS made an issue of it!!!

Yes, Kerry has made much of his Vietnam service, and has had his Brothers in Arms with him at many campaign events.

But for the Repugs to say that it's fine for them to run lying ads BECAUSE he did (and that it's NOT right for Dems. to attack Bush's LACK of service because Bush hasn't touted his TANG service in his campaign) is disingenuous, at best.

Look at "Mission Accomplished" on the boat ... Bush helping fly the plane onto the aircraft carrier ("I was a pilot! I flew planes!"). The flight suit. The freaking ACTION figure in the flight suit (I notice he didn't stop anyone from selling those!). The bomber jacket he wears at every campaign stop where there's a single person in uniform (whereas Kerry usually wears a suit).

Bastards! Bush is making an issue out of his TANG service, too! It's FAIR GAME!

Why aren't the pundits pointing THIS out??????

1. The pundits are Bush puppets, that's why....

...or their bosses are Bush puppets, because the networks know that if they take positions against Bush and the republicans they put their broadcast licenses at risk. You are correct about Bush's phony use of military hero props and poses. He brought it out even where he never earned any honors, he borrowed them and wore them. There is a photo that has been posted here on DU many times showing Bush wearing military colors he never earned. Then of course, there is the AWOL issue with Bush that he can not come clean on. I say keep punching at him and his weaknesses. Bush has tons of them.

2. Close election = ratings

..Just my theory, though.

If the polls indicated 70% Kerry / Buxh 25%, even I would be wondering what was new with Scott Peterson. It behooves the media to have a "dead heat" this year.

Only the so called "unscientific" polls seem to indicate what may be the real results of this election. (Remember Sean Hannity's lopsided online poll indicating a Kerry victory a couple months ago?)

3. Unless I miss my guess, that's exactly what the Kerry camp is working on

and will detonate after the convention. Kerry could say, "We ran a positive campaign, and the opposition bomabarded us with lies. Well, I can bombard, too--the difference being that I can bombard POSTIVELY because MY weapons are THE TRUTH!!!"

5. We Need To List The GOOP Memes...

Somewhere there should be a "sticky" post for the growing list of GOOP/CNNservative/Faux memes that we'll be hearing this week...

- Kerry made Vietnam the issue, not Bunnypants and his going AWOL. There was nothing else at the DNC...just that (guess Obama's speech didn't count)

- Kerry flip-flops...while this regime is not put to the same measure on virtually everything from "compassionate conservatism" to every facet of the Iraq Invasion.

- The Democrat 527s are as bad or worse than the Repugnican ones - since they bash Bunnypants...and with facts...and that's just as bad, if not worse than lies and libel funded by all sorts of shadow GOOP operations.

- The recession was Clinton's, not Bunnypants - despite all the job losses SINCE 1/20/01 and specifically in the past 2 years. The economy is "turning the corner"...not according to my brokers...they're getting broker every day.

- The world has changed since 9/11 - BULLSHIT - I looked at a map just a few minutes ago...looks the same to me. What changed was the long-controlled imperialistic arrogance of led a coup-de-etat in THIS country that has alienated it from the rest of the world and endangered, not strengthened US interests.

Now...are these memes just being spewed to see if they'll stick or are the American people far smarter and not buying this horseshit anymore???
