Q: Are you offended by the phrase "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

PALIN: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

Well...seems that someone doesn't know their history of the pledge of allegiance...the pledge of allediance wasn't made official until 1942...The words "Under God" would not be added until 1954...

Wow...you just can't make this stuff up...

Choosing someone who doesn't know this key factoid about the pledge and "Under God" statement.
As an active fundamentalist who supported teaching Creationism in science class, you'd think she'd know that background.

But I guess they prefer to ignore religious freedom and separation of church & state as deep American values.
