Vetting someone after you put them on the ticket, part of the change we can all believe in if we elect McSame.

Andrew Halcro, one of the Republicans who ran against Palin in 2006, is reporting that the McCain campaign has begun vetting their candidate:

The campaign of John McCain has sent a staff of eight people into Alaska to conduct background checks and vetting on Governor Sarah Palin.

Word is they have have eight rooms reserved at a Wasilla hotel.

Vetting someone after you put them on the ticket, part of the change we can all believe in if we elect McSame.

Remember, when you say “supremely irresponsible,” the media says “bold.”

When you say “intemperate gambler,” the media says “maverick.”

When you say “not ready for primetime,” the media says “someone you want to have a beer with.”

2. With all seriousness, I find the often comment
about McCain's gambling disturbing.

Gamblers think they are smarter than everyone else. It is a very bad personality flaw.

3. Doesn't make sense.
At this level of national politics I doubt this would happen. Though who knows?

13. Seems too complex and too risky.
If he takes a mulligan on his VP pick, forget it. He still ends up looking reckless and desperate.

16. That *is* the argument against the theory ...
... except it's addressed by blaming Palin's pullout on protecting her family and daughter from unwarranted, vile attacks from "the Left."

17. I don't know if anybody would buy that.
The only people who think this is a good pick are the fundies, and they thought Harriet Miers was awesome for SCOTUS. Everybody with two brain cells to rub together would be going "right...it was the left..."

18. McCain had much more time than Obama to vet and pick his running mate
He clinched in early March, so he had nearly 6 months to carefully make his selection.. Instead, he picked someone he barely even knew at the 11th hour... and only now is he vetting her?

19. What hard evidence do we have?
I need some harder evidence on McCain's lack of vetting Palin. Do we have hard evidence? Articles in mainstream journals, etc.
