Can we talk about the RNC Convention coming up?
Isn't it starting tomorrow?

I've heard for sure that Bush and Cheney are not speaking at the convention, because they are going to be vacationing----erm, watching the hurricane from Texas.

Why both of them? Does it really take both of them to drink Wild Turkey and dick around---erm, watch the hurricane?

Was the RNC just thrilled to get them out of the convention? And if so, how sad is that that the convention will be BETTER without the sitting president and VP there?

And is it true that Ah-nold isn't going to the RNC? Who else is a no-show now? Are they going to give Lieberman a bigger role now that fewer republicans will be there? (LOL.)

Finally, the most important question--how much is the republican convention going to blow? Who's going to be paying attention? And are they secretly thankful not many people will be paying attention to their crapfest?

1. I believe they said...

....tomorrow was going to be a very abbreviated convention - just taking care of the business procedures in order to make the nomination. Still, I guess it woudl be on TV and last a few hours.

3. I wonder if they're making any changes on other days.
And are they actually going to have his VP pick speak? Has she had enough time to write a speech or is someone else writing it?

5. i bet they let out a sigh of relief
knowing they could cancel.....I keep seeing Obama in front of a crowd of 94,000 and McCain in front of a cheese display. No way, no how could they have gotten the volume of people that Obama did.

4. There has been talk about
making the 1st day a telethon. Problem is, it would run against the Jerry Lewis MD Telethon, which is in its 42nd year.

7. I would venture a guess that they will do just the required tasks
and then, with the hurricane as their reason, head home. They will have made their nomination a fact, avoided hearing **** and his VP and avoid as much negative publicity that may come to light as McSame and whatshername give their short as possible speeches. They know they will not draw the crowds that Obama did and that they have just made colossal asses out of themselves with the vp choice..

9. That probably sums it up pretty well.
Now I'm hearing that they may cut Tuesday short, too.
