We need a women's march in the tradition of Alice Paul and Lucy Burns BEFORE
Edited on Sat Aug-30-08 06:13 PM by Skidmore
the election to support change. A huge march with the Dem women political leaders out in front. With all the grievances and on huge placards and banners after the style of the women. We need to take turns standing outside the WH and/or the RNC headquarters and taunt * and McCain with their empty rhetoric concerning wommen's rights followed by recitations of the manner in which they shut women down. Hell, find a white horse and a beautiful young woman to recreate Inez Milholland' portrayal of liberty--one of my favorite images from the suffrage movement. Over the past few years, I've commented on these boards several times that the RNC would love to strip us of rights, even beyond reproductive rights. we need to galvanize the women's vote.

1. I have a white horse (seriously), but do I have to be "young and beautiful" to qualify?
I have often thought I should ride "Voter" somewhere in support of rights....

4. Cool.
I just have always thought that the image of Inez Milholland on that horse was just such a stunning one.

5. What do you think would be the best location for something like this?
Would it be better to have a women's organization coordinate because they would have resources available to use and are located in larger areas (I'm in the boonies in the rural midwest)?
