What does the Palin pick say about John McCain?

Some things I have heard:

1. He is suffering from Alzheimers.
2. This just proves he will do anything to get elected.
3. He has agreed to to let the Neocons and religious right call the shots/he is no longer his own man (though some people say this just proves that he's suffering from early Alzheimers).
4. Since he's willing to do anything to get elected, like Bush, he'll do anything to get re-elected and that means catering to the Neocons and the religious right. The so called moderate McCain has left the building.
5. Rove was calling the shots more than Cheney and he will continue to call the shots if McCain is elected.

1. See Jim vandeHei's Politico piece (it's up on Yahoo News too)
I was suprised by how blunt it was (considering I view
Politico as leaning right) ... Right off the bat, he
says it shows BombBomb is DESPERATE and this race isn't
anywhere NEAR as close as the "national polls" would
like us to believe.

I don't think this pick bodes poorly for us at all;
on the contrary, I agree with vandeHei that it shows
we are further ahead than we may think.

6. Look at #6. At the end of the day, McCain is still McCain. That is ridiculous.
This pick proves McCain is controlled by the religious right and the Neocons.

He lists some things that while not so great aren't that damaging. He wants to convince you that McCain is an independent maverick who marches to his own beat. That is a JOKE.

If I could draw a cartoon, I'd do one of McCain as a marionette and the religious right, Rove, and the neocons pulling the strings. And show them leading him and the U.S. right of the cliff.

3. #5 mostly. But how about #6: It's a joke.

Of course he's not calling the shots, especially if #1 is in full force. Bur don't be surprised if investigation of Palin will forces her to step down, forcing the Repubs to put in their real choice at the last minute to avoid media scrutiny.

7. He'll have another doll to play with, behind the White House desk
And he can cover himself with the excuse that he wants to one-up the Dems by having a woman on his ticket.

If Hillary would not have tried to run, the Repugs would never have even considered having a woman on the ticket. You think they would have thought of this a long time ago, at least back when the Mondale/Geraldine Ferraro ticket took place 24 years ago. But no, they're in a corner and getting desperate, trying to look like the Repugs can be progessive or something.

They might as well have put a Black Repug on the vice-president ticket.

9. That his first "Commander in Chief" decision is a gamble. Do you want a CIC who gambles?
Ready-made Obama ad: Play the many clips of Republicans and pundits saying his choice is a gamble, then say:

"In these serious times, do you want a Commander in Chief who's a gambler?"
