Have you heard of him? I also heard that 40 million people turned in to watch this speech, and that didn't even count those that watched on PBS and C-Span. I watched the speech on C-Span and I thought he did pretty well. I think I might vote for him in November.

Yes, you all know that I am a long time supporter of Obama, but when I come to the board today all I see is mccain/palin threads. Geesh, how many threads do we need to say the same things. How about some threads on what we can do as democrats. How about some threads on what we like about Obama, Biden, and other Democrats. How about threads even on shows that you have watched that made you feel good about the election and those that ticked you off. Anything that is about our side of the race instead of focusing entirely on mccain and his token vp pick. :puke:

Alright I am getting off my soap box and will stop preaching on the street corner of this board. I apologize, but I am losing patience with Washington politics and this country the longer this process goes on. Four years ago I had no hope for this country, thanks to four years of bush and company. That is when I met Barack and my hope was restored, and he has kept me going these last four years by his actions and his determination. If he fails, or I should say if we fail, this year then I will again lose hope and I will end my life knowing that I have left this world off worse than it was when I was born.

Lets keep hope alive.

1. Recommending because
du'ers need to be reminded of what's important around here. We have 2 great candidates and they need promoted all over the place.

6. Thank you.
after the primary season with the war between the supporters of different candidates, I feel like we need to build ourselves up a little and build a true coalition.

2. And if you look at most of those 'Palin' threads they have very few replies.
Why can't people post their thoughts about her on existing threads?
I'm more than a little sick of what I'm seeing on DU right now.

5. Let's hope so.
I mean, I can think of negative things to say, like for example. "mccain is just mmcain. He married two token life mates (wifes) and now he has chosen a token running mate." but when the board is covered with just thread after thread of this, it seems obsessive.

10. We need to go after McCain and Palin.
There were many threads on Obama's speech, and most everyone is in agreement that it was a very effective speech. There have been many positive threads on Obama, and there will continue to be many positive threads about Obama.

But we can't lose sight of our opponents. We need to take on McCain and Palin, we are just starting to learn about Palin and a lot of dirt that has come out in the last twenty-four hours has the potential to sink the McCain campaign for good. We need to show McCain's lack of judgment in choosing Palin to the rest of America.

11. I will not argue that point with you
What I was getting at was when I came on this morning all the threads were on them, nothing but them. Then there would be one thread saying something like 'Palin is stupid' and then two threads down another thread saying 'we shouldn't be saying Palin is stupid'. Both threads would have only a few posts on them.
