Alaska House Speaker John Harris (R): “She’s old enough. She’s a U.S. citizen.”

Indicted Alaska Sr. Senator Ted Stevens (R): “it’s a great day for the nation and Alaskans.”

Andrew Halcro, local blogger who ran against Palin for governor: “This shocking choice says more about McCain’s desperation than it does about Palin’s qualifications”.

Alaska State Representative Mike Doogan (D): “Either Sarah Palin has talents and skills we were not aware of”, or “John McCain fell down and hit his head”. He also called the prospect of Palin potentially needing to take over as President”pretty scary.”

3. What to remember here...

Palin ran as a "reform" candidate against the incumbent Republican in the primary, and then won in the general as the Republican in a heavily Republican state. But the Alaskan Republican Party doesn NOT like her. Most Alaskan Republicans in the state legislature don't care for her either. She made a lot of enemies in her rise, and hasn't done anything since then to make the politicians like here.

Look for some scores to be settled in the next few days.

Bi-partisn success in moving legislation in both State Senate and US Senate recommends Obama. People need to tout his experience more, running a successful and efficient campaign, and more points.
