Praying For Rain To Disrupt A Political Convention
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 10:18 PM by rcsl1998
Well, as they say, God works in mysterious ways. I seems that Focus On The Family encouraged their followers to pray for rain to ruin Senator Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field/Mile High Stadium. Now Hurricane Gustav is expected to make landfall somewhere along the Gulf Coast on the first day of the Republican Convention. Things that make you go hmmm...

Please let us not follow their example. If you believe in the power of prayer, please pray for the safety of those in the path of Gustav. However, if you do pray for rain, please request for the rain to assist those afflicted by the ravages of drought worldwide.

1. I don't get all this "praying" nonsense....
There is scientific evidence that prayer does not help. Organized religion serves to make the masses weak minded.

5. The OP Said "IF you believe in the power of prayer..."
If not, then please send your best hopes for those in Gustav's path...

4. well said, rcsl1998!
and isn't Minneapolis like- thousands of miles away from the coast? How would it be destructive? Oh, yeah- some of their important convention coverage would be preempted by disaster reports.:sarcasm:
