Media is saying that even though it won't impact the Twin cities RNC next week, a CAT 3 hurricane hitting the U.S. going to be a major distraction. Americans (not just areas impacted by the storm) will not be focused on politics, but the destruction of the storm itself. So next week is already shaping up great; McCain will have to share the headlines with the weather. Media is saying this could have a profound impact on the Republican voter turnout in November.

....awwwweeee, isn't that a shame?

PS - Of course my thoughts and prayers are with anyone that may be affected by this storm and I hope that everyone down there is safe .... but I can't help but be somewhat happy about the effect the weather will have on their convention.

1. "Shaping up great" is not really an
appropriate way to look at this. People die and suffer in hurricanes. We should all pray the hurricane goes away.

3. Well, it's not going anywhere, but we should hope that people
get out of its path unharmed, and the damage is minimal.

4. Gloating over possible death and destruction is something Republicans would do...
And something they accused us of doing on a regular basis during the start of the second Iraq War.

Don't be like them.

5. If the Republicans are really all that God-dy, they'd be asking some serious questions about now...
Barack is hitting 'em out of the park and having a blow-out rock star convention. Meanwhile, the "God" party is about to hold a hate-fest while their big guy upstairs aims another catastrophe right smack at them. What kind of god is it these people are worshipping, anyway? He seems kinda like a Democratic to me (sorry, I got smacked yesterday for using the term "Democrat" instead of "Democratic.")

7. Let this hurricane stay out at sea...
...causing no harm to life or property....simply a reminder of the ineptness of this administration.

8. Hurricanes come and go as they will, human activity may be affecting them,
however.

I think that the point is that it takes a major threat or event to get a reality check into the choreographed business news cycle.

The timing is suspicious for all those God-fearing and superstitious yahoos (humans).

Goodness knows that we could use some help from above to prevent peoples from destroying this planet through political corruption and ignorance.
