Has the roll call been this early before?
I remember it happening later in the night at the 2004 and 2000 conventions.

Or am I just losing my mind?

4. So why the change? This is a historic moment.
The first time ever a black candidate will be officially nominated to lead a major ticket and we're doing it at 3:30 Denver time?

Boo.

Unless they plan on doing something else later tonight.

I don't know.

9. It's obvious. They don't want people acting a fucking nut on the convention floor in primetime.

12. Plus Biden speaks tonight and so does Clinton and i guess with only 2 hours of
network coverage they want to let the speeches be the story tonight. I mena networks, not cable outlets just to be clear.

14. in the past it typically was done very late -- around 11 pm
check the schedules for previous conventions..its done after all the other speechmaking for the night has been done -- typically starts around 11.

13. Maybe because Clinton is also speaking tonight.
That might have squeezed the roll call out of primetime.

15. I'm kinda irritated.
I love the roll call of states, but this is waaaaaaay early. They used to show it in prime time on network TV, a million years ago when the networks filled a whole evening of programming with the conventions. For years now they've only shown the 10:00 - 11:00 hour, but still... this seems super-early to me and of course I'm still at work. :-(

16. I think they are looking to get Clinton and Biden in prime
time viewing for the voters. People start to go to sleep with :the great state of:.. never will forget the Mcgovern speech coming at midnight. The Obama people are making sure that our best in speakers which everyone of the independents will be interested in will be on the prime time call.
