That's it....I'm sick of these republicans.

It usually takes me well into October before I feel fed up to this point with the blatant nonsense of election year, GOP grade, bullshit.

After viewing the nonsensical "Ayers ad" this afternoon, that looks like it was produced in his mom's basement at some Freep's house, I wondered at the desperation to avoid kitchen table issues in favor of a pointless and vague attack. Though I felt it was an ignorant ad aimed at ignorant people, I secretly feared it would work.

Later while watching McCain's performance on Leno's show, avoiding simple questions about his real estate holdings, I was stunned John McCain reached up his sleeve and pulled out the POW card again. I'm serious, I was stunned. I thought he'd at least conferred with his campaign since last week to craft a fresh dodge to a question that would most certainly come up again and again. I can't believe American's could be distracted from the original question so easily, but apparently, he's getting away with it.

I've become sick and tired of hearing the likes of Nora O'Donnell and Karl Rove, posing as political analysts, using the term "happy warrior" to scrub the stains clean from McCain's blood stained hands while pasting a freakin' smiley face over his grim assessment of future conflict. Can we be so simple as to fall for such a transparent ruse?

I'm not just dismayed at how republican's have lowered the bar for political debate, but I'm also disappointed at the resulting degradation of American intellect from the repeated use of bumper sticker slogans that have no real meaning, and those who choose to set aside the thought process to ride along with that party.

It's only Labor Day, and I've had it. I've had it with that pathetic party leading our country into an abyss of moronic sludge. I've had it with the barstool republicans who fall for this crap, and I've had it with the compliant media that propels it. I better not hear from one person today who tells me that "Obama's an elitist", "I don't trust him", or "the media's in the tank".

Have the last eight years of Karen Hughes' "Compassionate Conservative" in office devolved us into blurry eyed consumers of media hype who apply for credit cards that give us "more freedom", buy medicine that gives us "time in a bottle", and vote for a republican because he "puts country first"?

Hopefully not more than half of us.

Thanks for reading this rant. I've been yelling at the TV all afternoon, and feel I needed to type something. I'm putting on an Obama button and getting out of the house now.

As I said, nobody better......

edited for spelling

1. Um...The media IS in the tank
How else to explain all the coverage of repubs during the Democratic National Convention? But I do understand how you feel. Time to go. Beautiful day, and there is some educating to do.

2. The Republicans have worked hard to dumb down America.
They are banking that more than half of us will believe all their lies and vote for McCain. If it happens, then all is lost. This country will never recover, Rove will have accomplished his goal of one-party Repubican rule and I'd rather jump ship than stay here with the morons.

3. You certainly aren't alone
We've put up with so much mindless crap for so long, it is understandable that we need to rant now and then.
