Democratic Party assists Random House and it's anti-8-track campaign
So the tech savvy Democratic Party is either aware of Random House's anti-8-track campaign and chose to play along or they are so fucking stupid they bought into the pitch and allowed Random House to not release Dreams From My Father on 8-track..

Fuck this. I have paid some BIG money to get their candidates elected I deserve to at least listen to Barack's "I'm running for President Book."

6. I did indeed.
Though if I were running Linux on my machines I guess I'd be ticked too, in fairness.

2. Yeah, so much for the party of 70's stoners grooving to the 8-track tapes.
No wonder we always lose...

Right-on, man...right-on!

5. He couldn't figure out how to turn it on.
Hence the huge increase in domestic staff expenses he reported on his latest tax return. 8 track operators, no doubt, in each McCain home, standing by to soothe the Senator's jangled nerves with the Partridge Family's Greatest Hits.

8. False comparison, Linux is much more secure and stable than Windows...
In addition, Linux has about 5-10% of marketshare in the DESKTOP market, yet about 60-70% of the share of the Server market. Is DU comparable to an 8-track player, it runs on Linux, you can find that out for yourself. Linux also dominates in many embedded systems, most cash registers, lottery machines, some cell phones, etc.

10. Linux - Still chasing that elusive 1% market share
http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=2179

For desktops, that is.

Which is all that matters, since, you know...Can't watch the convention on a cash register, anyway.

11. Uhm, I don't know how reliable those stats are, but if they are anything...
Like what he said he needed to do under Ubuntu to get programs to install, he's an idiot of epic proportions, having used Ubuntu myself for years, its literally click, password, install for me, I don't even have to use the command line, unless I want to do some above and beyond hacking for my own purposes. And I do the same under Windows as well, using its command line shell.

12. I'm addicted to apt-get
Searching the web for crappy shareware applications to run on Windows is so 90's. :P
If I need to encode an MP3, open a RAR file, or a million other things, I have it right at my fingertips.

Sure, Linux drives me crazy in its own special way (driver problems, library dependency issues, poor documentation). But whenever I have to use Windows, I just can't believe what a load of crap it is.

13. This
What kind of dumbass can't watch videos in Ubuntu?

Also, Obama is pretty big on open licensing his campaign stuff. He made a point of forcing the release of the debate recordings under a creative commons license during the primaries. (IIRC)
