Article: Netroots push back against MSM 'bias' - A fairy tale spin by Politico
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 08:35 PM by FrenchieCat
Very long article appearing on Yahoo. The "author" never uses the word Corporate to describe what word the Netroots uses for real to describe today's Corporate media. Also, the spin is to make one think that we are "touchy", and that we are just doing what the Right did. In otherwords, a bullshit article meant to make us look unreasonable and overprotective over Barack Obama. So much tripe, so little time! I call it damage control and justification for their fucked up behavior, lack of journalistic ethics, and propping up the Republican Corporate candidate! :eyes:

Netroots push back against MSM 'bias'

If you asked a random sample of progressive Democrats and liberal bloggers to describe the current state of political media, from CNN to The New York Times, there’s one word that’s unlikely to come up: “liberal.”

For those on the left, the more operative words these days are “mainstream,” “establishment,” or “traditional.” And if one is feeling particularly aggrieved, the description of choice is increasingly — and surprisingly — “conservative.”

Gone are the days when only the right howled about bias and malice from network anchors and star political reporters. What began roughly a decade ago as frustration from Democrats over coverage of President Bill Clinton’s impeachment and adulterous escapades has morphed into an informally organized rapid response network, ready to pounce on any and all perceived media slights against Barack Obama.

1. Yep, those days are gone because
these days, and they've been here for quite awhile, the main$tream media is too busy oinking at the Corporate Trough to get the facts right.

They are the dinosaurs and we are the meteorites so watch out LIARS FOR MONEY.

2. There is no mainstream media.....as it is all owned by corporate interest.
Mainstream sounds like Normal media, or reasoned media. That, it ain't.

Just watched NCB world news tonight pushing the Obama vs. Clinton supporters. They figure they can get two for the price of one....because pretty soon Obama supporters are going to get pissed, and the Clintons will never win another election again. If I were the Clinton's, I'd be trying to hush that shit, because it is going to backfire big time. Just sayin'. Nobody's stupid, now.

4. Come on. The right uses "liberal bias" as a goading tactic to get their talking points covered.

After the last eight years only a brainwashed lunatic could believe the media has a liberal bias.

7. In 50 years, they've gone from "n_____-lover" to "liberal" ...
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 08:45 PM by TahitiNut
... and there are some who think that's "progressive."

I don't. When a core respect for humanity and human liberty is employed as an epithet, we haven't come very far ... and don't deserve to.
