New Obama smear - and the TRUTH.

This is a new one I hadn't heard before that I heard from a coworker. "Obama talks about family, yet he has a half-brother in Kenya living in poverty he won't even help out. He even went to visit him last year and still wouldn't help him."

I had to look it up, and here's the truth:

So, it is his "long lost" half-brother George who has broken ties with the rest of the family. Obama has met him exactly twice. Obama didn't go to "visit" him, but was touring Nairobi when he met George for only the second time (the first time George was 5 yrs old). And in George's own words, "it was like meeting a stranger". George is planning on going to school, and it sounds to me like he wouldn't accept any "help" if it were offered.

I was blindsided by this one. I shared it so that if you hear it, you'll know the truth and can respond.

while Cindy got the rest of the family fortune? Oh, yeah - I'm going to bring that up on Monday when I talk to my friend again. Along with Mother Theresa, stealing from from own charity to feed her addiction, and McCain's Cross in the Dirt plagiarism, Keating 5, etc. etc.

this LIE which tries to paing Obama as a hypocrit. Obama does have an impoverished half-brother, but it is the half-brother who broke away from the family. He is a complete stranger to Obama.

sometimes its' not so much that people are stupid though its that they don't always have the time for long stories and more often than not remember the simple sound bites much easier and longer than a long drawn out though in depth and needed report...

perhaps we and find something a bit different for the s word than stupid?

Like "keep it sufficiently simple"?

I got it from my Six Sigma (business efficiency) trainer. Concerning analyzing process flows, he also emphasized the Jerry Garcia Principle - "stay as high as you can as long as you can". Meaning fix the problems visible from a bird's-eye view first before you start getting into details. But we all definitely remembered that lesson!

11. I saw George interviewed on CNN friday night

He did indeed say it was like strangers meeting but he also went on to say that he was offended that the press inferred that he needed help and that he wasn't impoverished.

Here's a bit from the CNN site:

But reports surfaced in the past few days, springing from an Italian Vanity Fair article saying George Obama is living in a shack and "earning less than a dollar a day."

The reports left him angry.

"I was brought up well. I live well even now," he said. "The magazines, they have exaggerated everything.

"I think I kind of like it here. There are some challenges, but maybe it is just like where you come from, there are the same challenges," Obama said.

He may be impoverished by our standards but apparently he feels just fine with the way his life is going. He also feels his half-brother will become the next POS.

The "strangers" comment I was trying to use to show he didn't even know his half-brother, whereas my coworker tried to imply that Obama knew him well but just didn't care.
