1. I'm not sure what you're looking for.
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 08:24 PM by last1standing
Are you saying that you didn't like Obama's choice in Biden so you're thinking of not voting for the ticket?

On Edit:

Now I get it.

Biden appeals to those looking for foreign policy experience (most will agree that Biden has more than mccain or any other sitting politician). He appeals to progressives so the base is comforted. He appeals to the working class because he comes from that class and he speaks in a way we understand. He appeals to Catholics (being one himself). He appeals to those thinking Obama lacks "gravitas" with his many years in office. The list goes on and on.

5. There are a lot of people out there
who haven't decided and believe it or not, don't know that much about Obama. Hard to believe for the politically addicted like us, but true.

They may have heard of Biden, or maybe they haven't.

She now says that choice pushed over to supporting Obama. She's from rural central PA, and she likes Biden a lot.

7. At the risk of getting flamed, I'll admit it.
I'm a longtime Biden supporter, voted for him in the primary, not thrilled with the other choices (just being honest). I believe in Biden. I trust him and will follow his lead.

10. how about people who were worried about Obama's experience, and now with an old pro like Joe with
him they may feel a little more comfortable. Then there are the blue collar types who liked Hill during the primaries and who may feel Biden is one of them. And yes, like others have said, older folks might be reassured without alienating Obama's younger base.

16. I am quite confident with Obama
but Biden as VP just seals it for me. A slam dunk.

I imagine those who are definitely not voting for McCain but are unsure about Obama (for whatever reasons,) may also feel a bit of confidence in Biden. Some may feel confidence in the team over either individual. Rather than sitting it out or voting third-party, they may now feel confident enough to take a chance on Obama's cabinet.

It puts a lot of thoughts in play. That's got to be a good thing.

22. It Isn't a Question of Who Votes for Biden as VP
It's a question of how Biden will change perceptions of both tickets. And groups with different perceptions will vote in different percentages.

I wasn't gonna vote for him if he chose a repig as his running mate. And he didn't. Also, maybe, my dad. But he isn't over Obama saying Reagan has good ideas, neither are any of his union bussies. But I hope they'll come around before November.

29. This time, I think it's going to matter.
There have been a lot of people who were undecided. And MANY have attacked Obama for his inexperience.

I think what you're going to see here is some serious spin about teamwork. This may be the first time that we've known in advance that these two will function as a team, and that their roles are pre-established with Obama in charge and Biden as TOP advisor.

Some people will not be happy. My first thought is that Biden doesn't equal "change". But it doesn't sound like he's slept with the people I hate most, i.e. the defense lobbyists. The anti-Obamans won't be happy, period.

But they aren't the ones we're courting, or ever expected to flip.
