I haven't played in probably 6 months but I would be embarrassed if I didn't break 90. I have really good driving accuracy and ballstriking. My short game though is highly variable. When I've been practicing, I'm pretty good. But if I haven't played in months, it's pretty damn bad. Which is why my scores can vary from low 70's to high 80's on any given day or month. All depends on how much I'm practicing or playing at that time. I'd say overall my handicap is similar to Joe's. I haven't ever officially gotten one though.
4. I guess I should probably take some lessons as well...
...I took one and immediately (about a week later) went from shooting 120s to high 90s low 100s. On some days, I don't even bring the big dog out of the bag it's so bad and will drive with my hybrid (Which still gets me 220+ off the tee). I'm close to breaking 90 though. It's always 1 hole on each side that kills my card. Eliminate the stupid decisions, and I'll be an 80s golfer.
My 3-wood off the tee can go 220-230 including roll. Driver goes around 250-270 including roll (carries around 235). I had one lesson and it pissed me off so I gave up on it. But I also played in high school so I had a coach helping me every day, though usually it was just mental tips. He taught me how to cure the shanks when I got them one time. I haven't ever had them since but if I ever do, I'll know just how to get rid of it.
