AP Headline: "Biden Pick Shows Lack of Confidence"
Aaargh. Ron Fournier's "new AP" strikes again:

http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/washington/AP-Veepstakes-Analysis.html

Analysis: Biden pick shows lack of confidence

By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: August 23, 2008

DENVER (AP) -- The candidate of change went with the status quo.

In picking Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, Barack Obama sought to shore up his weakness -- inexperience in office and on foreign policy -- rather than underscore his strength as a new-generation candidate defying political conventions.

He picked a 35-year veteran of the Senate -- the ultimate insider -- rather than a candidate from outside Washington, such as Govs. Tim Kaine of Virginia or Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas; or from outside his party, such as Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska; or from outside the mostly white male club of vice presidential candidates. Hillary Rodham Clinton didn't even make his short list.

<snip>

So the question is whether Biden's depth counters Obama's inexperience -- or highlights it?

After all, Biden is anything but a change agent, having been in office longer than half of all Americans have been alive. Longer than McCain.

And he talks too much.

5. Yes, it says it's an analysis, so it's an opinion piece.

11. Not everyone likes the new attitude the campaign has been taking.
And crapped like this foistered out as "hard news analysis" seems to show it. I mean, every single line in their is one anti-Obama cliche after another.

18. It sucks for us that Ron Fournier can write a hit-job editorial and call it "Analysis"
And then slap the "AP Seal of Approval" on it.

What a bunch of horseshit, and what a bitter little baby Fournier is. Media Matters will have a field day with this one. :-)

They are going to cringe when the world shouts its approval in the morning! An Obama/Biden ticket is going to have them all cheering us on. I'd say the Dems just won a gold medal.

Go, ObamaJoe!

14. That's funny. It's quite the opposite
I was terrified that Obama would be too insecure to pick Biden and would go with someone who couldn't possibly step on his spot-light.

I think Obama manned-up with this pick.

17. Obama seems to think...
...he's up to the task of sitting on Biden when he needs to be sat upon, as Lincoln sat on Seward when necessary -- no easy feat. I think it shows some confidence in his ability to hold the reins and drive the wagon. Maybe someone's been reading A Team of Rivals?

23. Complete BS
This is not reporting. This is tripe. This is right-wing garbage. This is sullying a great moment in history with idiocy.

Whoever wrote this should be fired. This is not analysis. Any third-grader with a computer can write a better analysis than this.

Back to celebrating the official ticket.
