3. He has a huge crossover appeal.
Do you have evidence to the contrary?

20. Personal experience. I don't know anybody (Dem, Indy, or Repub) who likes him.
They don't believe he did a good job in the military and they say he comes across as a little to "pretty"...not "salt of the Earth" enough.

21. Fair enough. I always fancied myself as an Indie way back when...
..and I went for Clark in a big way in '04. Maybe that colors my perspective today.

10. Clark did a Q&A blog - maybe it was Washington Times?
he had told Maddow he'd be gone, think now he's saying he'll be in Denver Thursday?

11. No - that's why I ASKED!!
But, per Clark's own words in yesterday's liveblogging on Washington Times, he was leaving today (if I recall correcctly), and would return to the states/Denver on Thursday.

Gen. Clark, are you really not participating in the Democratic convention, and why not? Thanks. by cbellantoni
Answer: I will be at the convention as soon as I finish some business requirements in Europe that I simply couldn't reschedule. I should be there on Thursday as things now stand. by Wesley_Clark

14. With Clark as the VP, how could we lose?
I've been rooting for him and believe he's the one. The waiting is nerve wracking. Agh!

16. Lordy. You mean you wish it had been Clark.
I like Clark. I would have been happy with Clark. But this is just your own wishful thinking (or, a bid for attention which, if so, I will oblige).

17. It would be nice, but the DNC/ DLC MUST snatch defeat from the jaws of
victory. It will be someone who alienates the base to try to win over right wing voters.

I truly wish it were otherwise. :-(

22. I prefer Clark over Biden
I think having Clark on the ticket will hurt McCain's ability to his greatest asset against Obama (the fact that he was in the military and was also a POW). If McCain says he is better equipped to deal with the Iraq war because he has military experience, all the Obama campaign would have to do is point to Clark to refute this argument. I feel Clark would be a great asset to Obama, especially considering McCain is his opponent.
