"McCain has the best record of any Republican running for president on the energy issue"

Said by Bill Clinton.

Yesterday.

The full quote:

“Obviously, I favor Senator Obama’s energy positions, and Democrats have been by and large the more forward-leaning actors,” Mr. Clinton said. “But John McCain has the best record of any Republican running for president on the energy issue and on climate change.” He added, “I’m very encouraged about where the presidential rhetoric is in this campaign.”

Once again..... going out of his way to qualify any praise of Obama by also building up McCain.

Please.

Bill.

STFU.

This is Bill's way of making McCain more palatable to Democrats, even as he couches it in praise for Obama.

In other words:

"If you elect McCain, things won't be so bad."

1. Hey, he may have just cost McLame some votes.
Repukes can't stand Bill and they are probably seething over compliments like this.

3. So, exactly how many Republicans ARE running for President
I actually think, in addition to that error in expression, Bill simply meant to emphasize that the dialog is finally shifting towards more responsible energy usage.

6. Well, if Bill is still out there being "bipartisan", it seems to me
he knows who is NOT going to be VP. Were he to think differently, I doubt he would be praising the opposition.

7. And that, my friends, is why Hillary lost.

Bill Clinton.

He shot his mouth off and shot her in the foot too many times.

Had he not been around her neck like a friggin millstone, she might have won.

But the conundrum is that without him and her high profile for being married to him in the first pace, she probably wouldn't have had the success she has had either.

But once she was elevated to the national scene thanks to her marriage to him and her own success in the Senate, she would have been better off if Bill had gone to Tahiti and been out of sight and earshot.

15. Yes Lynne, we can say it to both of them.
But only one of them is a former US President.

"The notion that somehow is going to get in there and be some kind of ideological Newt Gingrich right-winger is a joke. There's no way that he would do that."

14. I agree with everything in this post....

It's interesting that you think that exposing some other Democrat behaving badly excuses Bill's bad behavior.
