If Hillary's name being placed in nomination is not supposed to be divisive
Hillary and Bill Clinton will both express their votes for Obama for the nomination while on stage even though Hillary's name has been placed in nomination.

They're both Super Delegates, so they both have a vote. It's the only way it won't be divisive.

6. That would certainly be a signal to their supporters.
And they would deserve huge kudos for that.

9. IF they did that, It would turn my opionion of them around 180 degrees
Suffice it to say I have a ver negative opinion of the Clintons after what they pulled in January, and really throughout the primary.

17. I don't recognize them as having "pulled" anything. I have never been more proud of Hillary Clinton
And that pretty much sums up the sentiments of most Clinton supporters. Obama has your support--he needs ours. This "gesture" on his part is such a small deal. The only problem some people have with it is that it doesn't validate that notion of Hillary Clinton as a disgraced party figure who has been banished. People who feel that way should be upset--they have been rebuked.

If the Clintons did what you are asking it would be an amazing gesture, which would no doubt be spit back in their face by the haters who would condescendingly claim that they were morally obligated to do it, especially so they could "redeem" themelves.

8. Her being placed in nomination
is to have a record of her history making run...that's all. It should be a matter of convention history.

16. Ok. pass that one by me again...
I'm pretty sure that this is going down in the historical record, whether or not her name was in the nomination or not.

18. She is going to vote for him, but it is incorrect to say that it would be divisive if she didn't.
It would be a normal vote, like has happened at countless other conventions, and at the end of the process there would be the nominee. People who say it would be "divisive" simply don't want it to happen because they don't like Hillary or see any need for her supporters to be acknowledged as we would like, rather then just "getting over it."

19. I posted this in another thread, but I am really curious if anyone knows the answer so please ...
forgive my repeating it here.

According the the DNC rules:

A total of 20 minutes is provided per candidate for the "presentation of his or her name" and for nominating and seconding speeches.
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/14/clinton/index.html (scroll to bottom of article)

Does anyone know if there will really be 20 minutes of speeches about why HILLARY should be the nominee??

PLEASE tell me they will skip that part. NOTHING good can come of it.
