11. let's see ... when Howard was turning against George W. Bush in 2004 ...
Edited on Tue Aug-12-08 09:52 AM by zbdent
suddenly, the Government was more than willing to use a nipple to force him out ...

before that, when he was calling for turning Iraq into a nation of glass (nuking them), they were more than happy to look the other way while he was ranting on and on about 9/11 ... remember, he was a good buddy (poker player) with Rudy G. ...

(edited to remove "being Jewish" because it didn't fit in after a retype)

16. should have removed the "being jewish"
because I was originally saying that he was calling for the Saudis being blasted to smithereens ...

then I changed it because I went to Iraq ... and forgot to remove that part ... removing it now ... sorry ...

2. He doesn't want to vote for McCain, but he's not convinced on Obama yet.
That's the short of it.

7. Why not?
For christ's sake, people spend their day reading tabloids and watching "entertainment tonight".

At least Howard is bringing the subject up.

19. Not so much 'working class' as 'no class'.
Oh he's so shocking - he has breast implanted strippers take off their tops and kiss on the air and ridicules the mentally and physically handicapped. Ah to be 14 again.

Again, who gives a crap what he thinks?

25. The only ones calling his listeners no class people are no clue people.
Do you listen to his show? Who cares what he thinks? Millions of people. And politically, he's been an ally since the 90's.

8. I was wondering what he had to say also
Not looking for guidance as I'm sure you weren't either. Just curious. I used to check the site that transcibes his show. Haven't checked that site in awhile.

Since Stern doesn't seem popular on this board I won't post the link. If you like it I could give it to you by private message.

9. First off, why do you care? Second thing, he's voting for Obama not McCain.
Edited on Tue Aug-12-08 09:41 AM by vaberella
Last I checked, which was a few weeks ago on youtube, he's voting for Obama over McCain, however I think he was going for Obama over HRC as well. But to tell you the truth, it's more of a reluctant interest in voting from what I can gather. And we already know he had that Obama girl on his show. It doesn't matter though, he's ineffectual in the thick of things and a waste of air. I don't even know why he's still around.

18. He loved Hillary
And he says over and over that he would vote for Hillary against McCain. He's still around because he's got millions of loyal listeners, and with the merger with XM, it's going to be many millions.

Stern moves numbers. The businesses that adertise with him make money. The people or topics that come up on his show shoot up the Google Trends lists of top searches. He's extremely influential with the type of voters we need.

10. after reading through this thread
(it took 10 seconds) I'll bet you are glad you asked the friendly crowd here on DU this question.

You will be flamed for asking ANYTHING here. You can get flamed for giving away magic ponies on this discussion board. But asking about Howard Stern... Now that takes a new level of cajones.

He was a big supporter of Hillary. He hasn't really said if he is voting for Obama. I know he said he doesn't really care for McCain.

24. Glad You Asked
Since Howard went to satellite I haven't heard him.

He does swing elections with his endorsements -- at least he used to. And beyond that, he's a good barometer of nonpartisan perceptions of the candidates.
