1. I would like to be outraged

except my sister and her friends went out one night during the 2000 campaign and stole a bunch of Bush/Cheney signs. I was amused then, so I guess I can't be hypocritical now.

2. Talk about a backfire!!! read this:

Panhandle for Kerry actually is gaining support from signs snatchings, Holt said. For every yard sign that goes missing, three more people want signs because it angers them, he said.

A Kerry/Edwards yard sign on Bayou Boulevard recently had the word "Bush" spray-painted across it.

"We're leaving that sign up because people who are undecided will say, 'How could anybody do that,' " Holt said....

3. Happens all the time

I've been in the screen printing business for almost 15 years. This is nothing new.

Keep in mind that sometimes the signs are not placed legally and the local officials do go around and take those down.

5. It's happening everywhere.

Here, Martin Frost's (D) signs were stolen, then placed ALL OVER an elementary school grounds.

Pete Sessions (R), one of Bush's poodles, feigned outrage and disgust that "Frost's people" could do that.

Then it was released to the media that Sessions was actually caught by a female cop stealing his opponent's signs in 2002 in the last election.

Bravo to the brave Pensacola Dems for keeping that butchered sign up. I think it says volumes just like that.

9. Another dirty trick the repugs are using with political signs

Watch out for illegal signs trashing a candidate the day or two before the election.

These signs will not be legally marked with who Paid for and Sponsored the sign. They do this so that there is no way to trace the signs back to anyone. This happened in my community during the primaries. A major violation of election law but it's almost impossible to do anything about them. Unfortunately, there are unethical screen printers who participate in this crap.
