Clinton supporters to stage '18 Million Voices' march

Posted: 03:55 PM ET

From CNN Associate Producer Martina Stewart

(CNN) – A grassroots organization of Hillary Clinton supporters has announced plans to march in Denver on the same day the New York senator is set to address her party’s faithful during the Democratic convention there.

The march will take place on August 26 and is being organized by 18 Million Voices Rise Hillary Rise. The march will be accompanied by a festival in downtown Denver and additional coordinated marches across the country on the same day.

Clinton, who garnered approximately 18 million votes in the long Democratic primary fight, is scheduled to speak at the convention on the 88th anniversary of the date American women were granted the right to vote.

Since Clinton announced the formal suspension of her presidential campaign, the Obama campaign has gone to great lengths to promote party unity. Clinton and Obama appeared together at a campaign event in Unity, New Hampshire; the Obama campaign recently announced that New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson will be holding two fund-raising events to help retire Clinton’s campaign debt; and Clinton is scheduled to campaign on Obama’s behalf in key

Edited on Wed Aug-06-08 07:48 PM by ukfordems
Q: What do you call a bunch of demonstrating PUMA supporters ?
A: A bigot line
Q: What kind of buns do PUMA supporters like with their burgers?
A: Hot Cross buns
Q: Where do PUMA supporters like to shop?
A: Circle KKK. (Although they may have difficulty working the coffee machine)
Q: Why do PUMA members were pointed hats?
A: Easier to fit over the dunce cap (and you can carry at least 3 cats in them)

Just to be nice for a change to the PUMA types, a flattering picture of one.

making some agreement that they wouldn't carry buckets of feces...The soundbite made it sound as if there was some type of disagreement of if they could or not. Now tell me why they would want to carry some "SHIT" to protest?

why disruptive?

Because some of those supporting Clinton STILL seem to have issues and they are using Hillary's failed run to work them out.

To donate a buck apiece to bail out Clinton's debt.

If respect needs to be shown, that's where it should start. Hell, I dropped her a ten spot, and I have opposed her candidacy for years.

This group aren't Clinton supporters. They are disruptors.

Now, this is a legit post.

Absolutely one of the most fascinating poitical and psychological phenomena of my lifetime.

I hope it's cathartic for them. They will not be "celebrating" anything, I guarantee you that, from the reaction on the PUMA sites.

Hope they bring lots of cowbell, though.

I just copied the photo from a fellow DUer. The young guy there obviously doesn't give a rat's ass about this stuff; he could be a Repuke, or a LaRouchie. Both are heavily represented on the PUMA sites.

32. If reports are true
that the debt is down to $5 million - as there are only 20 of them seriously involved, with 250 attracted, as both PUMA PAC and the Denver Group (despite officially not being linked) have the same major donors, they would need $25000 each.

As long as enough of them coalesce behind the nominee after the convention for us to win the election I don't have a problem with it. I really just want to get into september, and into the debates, and people can decide whether they will get on board..or get on the tracks because the party and I hope the majority of US will be moving forward.

54. This might, just MIGHT comes as news to some of the protesters in Denver:
Hillary DOES NOT HAVE 18,000,000 VOTES. She garnered that many in contests where the votes were CAST AND COUNTED. They make it seem like she's got this big box with all those votes in it, waiting for the right time to place them into ballot boxes.

CAST AND COUNTED. Those votes NO LONGER EXIST.

Why not be intellectually honest and say something like SOME of the 18,000,000 people who supported her in the primaries will not be voting for Obama in the GE. A few vocal protestors do not make 18,000,000 cast ballots.

59. The "protestors" in Denver won't be there to support Hillary
Edited on Wed Aug-06-08 07:30 PM by Arnold Judas Rimmer
Especially not the idiots in the black ninja outfits who will be starting all the fires and chaos (with government issued fake ID's in their back pockets and ski masks on their faces)

But when the media spin comes, the toothless puddytats (or whatever they call themselves) will be the scapegoat. And the sheeple will be scared into voting for "law and order" right wingers, like they were in 1968.

64. This is why it is important
to keep reminding people that these groups are Republicans.

Larry Johnson - Repub. Only liked for a short time by the left because he started telling lies about Bush.

Darragh Murphy - Republican.

Democrats4McCain- set up by Republicans.

Not found out who incontinentdaughter is yet, but I can guess. Let her cry a river - bigot.

Faux let them claim 3 million members when it took them a month to fill a 250 people conference.

a POS PUMA scum PUDA bait? They deliberately attempted to undermine the fundraising of the Hillary camp to cause more division.

They are a GOP scam run by a long time GOP supporter. End of Story.

84. More Operation Chaos rethugs
Is Hillary Clinton a democratic party member or not? If so she needs to condemn these republican operatives in the strongest terms. If not she is suspect herself.

18 Million Voices Rise Hillary Rise is a rethug front group, no doubt.

86. I agree. Most of this is from GOP operatives. However ...
... the refusal of Hillary to slap this GOP operation down and call it what it is makes the problem seem more real than it is. Her inaction allows it to be used by the GOP, so she is complicit, to her dishonor.
