DNC BLASTS MCCAIN'S 'SHAMEFUL' TACTICS

Posted: Saturday, August 02, 2008 11:23 AM by Mark Murray
Filed Under: Democrats, 2008, McCain

From NBC's Mark Murray

This morning, the Democratic National Committee released a memo criticizing the McCain campaign's negative tactics of the past week. "{I}f you're looking for the right word to sum up McCain's week, try one of these: 'desperate,' 'dishonorable,' 'outright lies,' 'off the mark,' 'nasty,' 'the gutter,' 'baloney,' or 'baseless.'"

The memo adds, "McCain may be proud of his shameful campaign tactics, but the voters expect and deserve better. Polls consistently show the American people are looking for real leadership that offers big ideas for confronting the big challenges facing our country. Since voters already agree that McCain's policies are too close to President Bush's and he has failed to offer proposals that will create jobs, provide tax relief for middle class families or help Americans stay in their homes, McCain has apparently decided that embracing the same old politics is his only path to victory. All of this from a candidate who promised to run a respectful campaign as recently as June."

3. All those tactics are true
but the GOP is running them because they are working. They will continue to use whatever sewer swill they can come up with as long as it works. If being honest worked, they'd do that, but it doesn't.

4. McCain's Own Campaign has Rendered itself Petty
it works on people who have an intellect of a child, but not on most adults.

5. McCain's crew is trying to goad OBama into being "angry"
Better that the DNC and the surrogates do this. Otherwise, it's Obama is an angry black man.

Hopefully, this shows McCain as the desperate candidate and his campaign as unprofessional. Not the best preview for a McCain administration.

6. Yes! I've been hoping some powerhouses come out to defend
Obama/take a swipe at McCrabby for the unprofessional way he's been handling his campaign. I hope this is just a start.

7. If they don't define McCain and his campaign it's curtains for Obama's chances
They need to come out swinging on tv tomorrow, too.

Wouldn't it be such an awful mess if we got great majorities in Congress and lose the presidency? Stalemate for the next 4 years?

Dems need to come out with brass knuckles. We need big mouthed, articulate Dems like Biden out there making sense.

The DNC and democratic congressman and senators ought to be up in arms and screaming bloody murder. Let Obama be Obama so he can campaign.

Unless they want 4 years of being marginalized and ignored under McSame.

12. Red'd~ This is an excellent reply to mcain and why
choose just one when they all will do?

""{I}f you're looking for the right word to sum up McCain's week, try one of these: 'desperate,' 'dishonorable,' 'outright lies,' 'off the mark,' 'nasty,' 'the gutter,' 'baloney,' or 'baseless.'"

I'm just excited that "first read" prints the DNC's "Blast".

It's so much easier when you're telling the truth..mccain has a really difficult time keeping all his lies straight.

I was talking to a friend at work today who was for Hillary here in New York but has supported Obama all the way since the primaries were over. She let me know she's beyond disgusted at mccain and she "really likes the way Obama is handling it".
