McCain's $520 loafers put 'elitist' shoe on the other foot
David Edwards and Muriel Kane
Published: Thursday July 31, 2008

Normally presidential campaign season finds Republicans accusing Democrats of being out-of-touch elitists -- but this time it seems the shoe may be on the other foot.

Huffington Post blogger Isabel Wilkinson reported on Wednesday that Senenator John McCain "has worn a pair of $520 black leather Ferragamo shoes on every recent campaign stop — from a news conference with the Dalai Lama to a supermarket visit in Bethlehem, PA."

1. I thought it was silly when the media ridiculed Edwards for the cost of
his haircut, and this is just as silly! It should be kept in our mental databank to use IF someone starts bit*hing about Obama's assets, but until then, leave it lay.

4. No worries
Unlike Edwards, McCain's $520 shoes will be dutifully ignored by the Wall Street Marionette News.

8. How about John Sidney McCain III's seven homes and unlimited credit cards and heiress wife?
I've been waiting for more people to throw the "elitist" crap back into the Republican faces, but JSM III has flattered, cajoled and cultivated media friends for so long that they have yet to really honestly criticize the ridiculousness of a multi-millionaire son & grandson of Admirals calling anyone else an elitist.

They really have to twist the definition to refer only to being a top student.

And still have enough left over for lunch! John McCain is not only an elitist, he's out of touch with America.
