I just saw the Olympic Bush ad...
I just finished watching the "Victory" ad on Bush's sh*tty site. (Just go to the site: www.georgewbush.com, and scroll down to latest TV ads and find "Victory") I almost vomit on the keyboard about the crap the ad proclaims.

I think this is he most f*cked up piece of sh*t our "beloved" president has conjured up with.

What do you think?

1. It looked like a pretty good ad
Upbeat, positive, cheerful, simple, trite, shallow. I think the Dems need some of ads like that to appeal to simple-minded voters.

7. You mean the one where he claims credit for establishing 80 Democracies
including the 2 "democracies" of Afghanistan and Iraq?

2. It was, and is, a disgusting ad
Just let the athletes do what they have worked hard for and don't politicize it. I hope he doesn't invite the dynastic Ladies Softball team to the White House. It would spoil all they've accomplished. And his ad is a slap in the face to the Iraqi athletes who also worked hard to achieve their Olympic dreams. bush should be ashamed of himself trying to capitalize on the Iraqi soccer team.

3. Unfiltered asked this morning
whether or not they were in copyright violation for using the olympic logo. They responded that since they said "OlympicS" it isn't a violation of copyright.

Also, the chimp takes credit for the Iraqi soccer team. One member quoted as saying that if he weren't playing soccer, he'd be fighting with the insurgents. They are really pissed that chimpy is trying to politicize their athletic victory.

5. Isn't that a Simpsons joke?
The "Spell-lympics" spelling bee was sued by the Olympic committee for use of the suffix, "lympics". :)

14. Odd... The IOC sued the organizers of the "Gay Olympics" for copyright...
infringement. But oddly enough, the IOC chose not to sue "Special Olympics". Hmmm. I guess it wouldn't look too 'sporting' of them to go after the Special Olympics kids... but it's a-okay to sue to Queers.

I hope the IOC and the Iraqi soccer team continues to make a fuss about this. Whether it's actually in a court of law or the court of public opinion, this ought not be left to be forgotten.

15. Olympia Snow was once asked to stop using
"Olympia!" as a bumper sticker during one of her Senate campaign runs a few yrs back.

And I do remember the IOC once talking about going after the "Special Olympic" folks but pulled back after they realized just how bad they would look.

So it makes me wonder why they are holding back going after this ad

8. Actually, I think
it was a pretty effective piece of propaganda. Reminded me of Raygun's "Morning in America" ads. Very feel good--simple dimple knee jerk patriotism--should appeal to the mindless flag waving twerps....

But not to me!

10. Shows women's swimming ... but
Bush is against giving women scholarships, against Title IX -- another piece of hypocrisy.

11. The Olymic Athletes are everything Bush isn't
People who have worked hard to achieve their goals and have sacrificed. They are people who have earned their place there.
