Carly Fiorina, says Obama would drag US into depression
http://rawstory.com/news/afp/Obama_would_drag_US_into_depression_07282008.html

It must be very difficult for fiorina to keep a straight face when she says that

All one needs to do is look who controlled the show for the last 8 years that led us to where we are economically today

mccain is an extension of bush, so if they want to continue the wonderful policies of bush, that is what mccain is

4. Who you gonna believe?
Carly, who ran HP into the ground?

or

People of great accomplishment, who actually know a lot about economics and finance, like:

Robert Rubin, Warren Buffet, Paul Volcker, Paul O'Neill, Bill Donaldson, and about 15 others who participated in Obama's economic summit?

Carly Fiorina is a joke.

9. Is that the HP that became #1 in worldwide shipments?
The one who announced a merger with Compaq on September 10th, 2001, which meant that there was a shit economy the very next dsay to try and get a merger to go through?

She's a terrible, terrible leader with awful people skills.

But blaming her for HP forgets all the nothing that Lew Platt did to that company for years.

And, by the way, as much as I despise her, everything she said needed to happen in the company ended up happening.

12. Golden parachutes are not the fault of the CEO, neither is their pay.
That lies firmly in the lap of the compensation committee on the board of directors.

The shareholders should have gone apeshit over the paycheck that their duly elected directors gave her. But like every single other publicly traded company, the directors give each other massive paychecks.

No executive has ever said "No, $10 million in stock and other compensation is too much."

I don't blame any single CEO for that problem.

The problem comes in when a pension fund somewhere can own 12% of the company's stock, and not vote the directors out of their seats. My 100 shares in a firm has no effect compared to the 17 million shares a pension will own. I can vote NO to all directorships, but it's not going to show up.

16. My question wasn't whether the golden parachute was her fault, but was she worth it?
Her record at HP and Lucent do not indicate that she was worth that sum of money, just as the CEO from MER wasn't worth it

17. She made some changes that had to happen.

The board wanted a rock star and got what they paid for.

They brought somebody in who made major changes, in a difficult economy, and prepped the company to turn around.

When her time was up, they gave her a big bag of money to take all the blame and scorn. And she did.

They brought in Hurd, and everybody got excited. They could have put me at the helm, and the stock would have risen, just because it was a change.

But none of Hurd's successes would have happened if the company were still the company that Lew Platt left for Fiorina.

11. Have to lay that groundwork now.
Scare the people that it will work on before the election.

And then after it, come up with a great story as to how everything broke immediately after Obama was nominated. That's what it was. The world's markets all fell apart because they saw him coming.

It's a bunch of crap, it will get her some airtime. It will get McCain some scare votes.

But it's a bunch of crap.

13. She's full of shit
and she's been that way for a long, long time (even before she hooked up with McCain). She screwed up HP, Lucent, etc. It's instructive that a total flop of a business person such as she is has made millions driving companies into the ground and now she is a presidential advisor.

18. I don't see how one could take Carly the Outsourcer
seriously as an economic adviser. A constant reminder of who she is will blunt her message very effectively.

She embodies much of what the public despises about the corporate hacks.

This is also the same brilliant individual that was trumpeting her candidate as pro-choice and pro-woman in a display of either brazen lying or utter ignorance of the matter at hand, either way it's a credibility destroyer.

Probably this is a good time to go on a witch hunt for her. Taking a bite out of the attack dog is perfect right now. We can KO McCain's economic team, hammer him on the topic, and discredit his entire platform relating to issue #1.

We need to continue to get the incompetence and untrustworthiness of his people out there and keep him pitching them under the bus to knock his legs out from under him and to bash him for later.
