1. 1000 words
the man just looks presidential, and fortunately for us, there's substance behind the looks.

5. lots of substance, and confidence.
he reeks of self confidence. Man his mom and family did a swell job with him. Of course some will call it arrogance, etc., but believing in yourself is so important, it can make you do extraordinary things in so many ways. This is the kind of strength that is needed now - not the chest beating finger pointing type that McCain has and how the primary went in regards to 'strength'.

Unfortunately too many of us are taught to be little timid field mice that just are here to run the hamster wheel for corporations, then die. We would be dangerous if we were any other way.

I know that there are many that are 'suspicious' of Obama, that he has some kind of sinister backing because nothing else can explain how a nobody got to be where he is now. I'm as jaded as anyone else and have to admit that there is a tiny part of me that is so used to being jerked around and lied to, that I have a small reservoir of doubt stashed.

but for all on the fence, especially the griping democrats that see no difference between him and McCain , o for gawds sakes you are NOT going to have a chance to elect a person of this calibre into office for a long long long time if Obama doesn't get in.

Just curious.

11. Corzine as VP? You don't read the NJ papers I guess.
He's got a bit of scandal going on and has managed to tick off a few people. He seems to be riding it out okay, but I don't think he'll be going further in politics.

I live in PA so am not following closely but that's what I gather from the snippets I hear. Plus, no military or foreign relations cred, I think.

12. Personally I'd prefer Robert Reich
but I think Rubin probably has a stronger brand nationally.

16. "Rubin probably has a stronger brand "
Indeed he does.

See: Friendly Takeover

By common consent, the most influential figure setting the economic course of the Democratic Party is banker Robert Rubin. But his counsel isn't likely to help either the Democrats, their constituents, or the economy.

19. This meeting was a great idea, though I think they should have held off a little while.
This would have gotten more coverage after the buzz from the trip abroad died down a little bit. This meeting wasn't really covered by the media, when normally it would have been a big event. They should have waited until at least later this week, and probably next week.
