2. Is there a video of Brokaw interviewing McCain anywhere?
I want to compare, because perhaps I have a false theory that could easily be dispelled if I were to see Brokaw interviewing McCain in the same manner as he just interviewed Obama.

5. Based on the threads here I was expecting something much worse
when it finally got to the West Coast.

While the questions he asked were superficial and trite those are things that the talking heads are saying when he is not there so I saw it as an opportunity for him to answer those questions and he mopped up the floor with them.

It is still light years away from condescending Charlie Gibson asking Senator Obama if he was making "rookie mistakes".

3. I watched the first five minutes and had to turn it off. I just don't know how Obama
keeps his equanimity with these "reporters" who spout such garbage.
Even when they ask him a question that he's answered in full about 90 times.
Or when they twist the facts and try to appear so guileless about it.

I can never remember the press, as a whole, being so worthless, spineless and intellectually lazy
as they are now (and have been for the past 7 1/2 years).

Obama is an extremely patient man.

6. yeah, listening to it longer than that it just repeats
but the surge worked. But it really worked. Why won't you just say it worked.

And barely giving him time to respond between press clips they play/read.

I'm not one for cult-like adoration of Obama, but his patience and calm are extraordinary.

11. During the Rev. Wright tv marathon, I remember thinking that, the next time someone asks Obama
about this, he's gonna explode (because I certainly would have).

Never happened. He never sighed or showed the slightest bit of exasperation, even though I know he had to have been
feeling it. Even keel, even tempered, all the way.

A truly unusual human being.

9. With the power of the press
Obama knows he doesn't have the luxury of giving these lazy asswipes of the media a what-for when they deserve it. I don't know if I can stand it until November.

14. They've had a lot of practice..starting with Gore, as
far as I know, because that's when I first started paying attention.

12. Brokaw was a tooly tool.
But your critics say this... Don't you think your critics were right when they said this? Here's another critic: what do you say to them?

So tired of hearing about the surge. If the media would just admit the surge was only necessary because the whole damned thing was a terribly botched oil robbery from the very beginning, we could all move on to more important things.

Obama is much more centered than I am. I think I would have lost my temper.

13. Brokaw looks visibly angry, tense and on the defensive in front of Barack
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 01:51 PM by nc4bo
Is this Brokie's normal posture and mannerisms (the head tilting thing is unnerving) while doing interviews?

In contrast, Obama is loose, smooth and on point.

I'm glad I don't look at this program enough to know how things go......disgusting.
