9. But...but...how can this be?!
The talking heads on MSNBC said earlier in the week that Sarkozy and Merkel were going to give Obama a hard time because they're "close friends" with Dubya!

The feed must be a fake. :sarcasm:

6. Interesting comment by Obama
Edited on Fri Jul-25-08 11:21 AM by thewiseguy
Sarkozy went on a US trip when he was running for president and he only met two senators: Obama and McCain!

The guy is a psychic. I bet you he sees an Obama presidency too. :)

18. Here is the question
She said Barack Obama has succeeded in breaking some barriers in United States and that has some black folks in France very happy. Then she referred to some riots that took place in certain cities in France and how Sarkozy labeled the rioters as scums.

She then asked since Obama is here today and you (Sarkozy) are very grateful of him, do you regret those comments?

22. That popped my eyes wide open
I guess the European press is used to feeling free to ask more direct and sharp questions. I'm reminded of the Irish reporter's interview with W that made him so on edge.

26. It was about the riots in France when Sarkozy was interior minister and he had....
called these rioters - which some of them were black people from poor suburbs - scum. But Sarkozy told Amanpour that he has black people working in his administration and that it was a difficult situation back then to handle.

He started out by saying the Americans get to choose not me. Then he went on and said well it would be exciting to have a candidate who is looking forward and not into the past.

After that I didnt understand a word that the translator said... :(
