McCain On Obama's Speech: "I'd Love To Give A Speech In Germany... But I'd Much Prefer To Do It As President"

ABC News' David Wright Reports: Today as his rival prepares to deliver a major address to the throngs in Germany, John McCain counter-programmed with a more modest event bound to invite comparisons.

Obama was at the Tiergarten in Berlin, amid a sea of people. McCain was at "Schmidt's Sausage Haus und Restaurant" in German Village, an enclave of Columbus, Ohio.

McCain addressed about a half dozen Ohio small business owners in the historic village.

"I'd love to give a speech in Germany," McCain said. "But I'd much prefer to do it as President."

'I'd love to give a speech in Germany, but I wouldn't draw flies even if I smeared my body with feces first.'

Step aside, Old Man. Nobody's paying attention to your lame-ass campaign.

18. Aces! I thought so. A kind of happy congruence. With Bush and Cheney you had Laurel and Hardy.
doing the work of two men, and now Charlie Chaplin, the little guy always being leaned on, as their current candidate! You couldn't make it up.

22. This will be the basic righty talking point along with drill, drill, drill
I heard a caller on one of the righty talk shows today (Beck, I think). The gist was "Who elected Barack Obama the Senator for the whole United States? What gives him the right to go over there and sell us out?" The host came back with something along the lines of "We don't care if everyone in Europe likes us."

To recap:

Obama talking in Europe = selling out America (comparisons with Jane Fonda are, no doubt, forthcoming)
Europe= Wortless P.O.S. milktoasty peacenicks (Why bother talking to them anyway -- if there's one thing we all like about Dubya, it's that Europe hates him)
Obama's overseas trip = Premature, goven that he's not yet President (of course, Senators take such trips all the time, and I guess it'd be unfair to mention that McSame told Obama he should visit Iraq)
