16. Any sense of humor?
It's a very funny picture. Hagel looks like a shy girl on a first date

2. Nah, they're buds from the SFRC.
And I'm sure they got to know each other better on this trip.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hagel as SOD.

14. 16 Years of republican control of Defense
Is there any wonder that the public thinks Dems. are weak on Defense since the Dem. keep turning the Pentagon over to them? Certainly no republican would ever turn over State or Defense to a Dem. They're smarter than that.

3. No. We have enough Democrats who can be his running mates
Look at the person on Obama's right - Jack Reed. A military man who can contribute as much as Hagel.. and is a Democrat.

9. He's also made Sherman-type statements that he wasn't interested, but
if duty calls...he might be persuaded, I think.

4. He's a cabinet pick, for sure. They look good together, though.
Handsome couple, LOL! Hagel pretty much made the bipartisan CODEL possible--what other Repub Senator was going to sit behind Obama and back him up on this fantastic trip? Obama owes him just a little, IMO. Proud of my Senator for pretty much giving his party the middle finger on the world stage.

11. Hagel agrees with the Democrats about 10% of the time...
Why so many 'Democrats' are infatuated with him escapes me

20. True
Though Reagan was a bit of a softy compared to good ol Dick. Perhaps we could use genetic material from both to clone a super-republican, and that can be Obamas running mate?
