The Bush Administration Is Only Meeting With Iran Because of The Newly Discovered Oil Field
And it couldn't even be more obvious than that. Yeah, people (media) may attribute it to the declining economy in the face of skyrocketing energy prices (that they, i.e. Rethug Oil Barons and Bankers manipulate), but, they knew all of THAT was coming, in fact, THEY created the situation, THEY wanted that scenario so that they could push through all of the bloodsucking corporatist taxpayer funded corporate welfare projects for Nuclear and Big Oil and further deregulate anything left standing. They wanted to create this situation so that they could distract people while they run roughshod in Washington D.C. So, WHY the turnabout all of a sudden. Weren't we just saber rattling a couple of weeks ago? Was not Iran testing missles? Was not Israel running special drills?

What happened?

Oh, how about this was announced:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3065913.stm ">Iran finds giant oil field

Iran has found new oilfields, with total reserves as high as 38 billion barrels.

Analysts say that only a small fraction of that may be commercially worthwhile, but it is nonetheless a very large find.

This discovery serves to reinforce an important feature of the long term outlook for oil supplies - that reserves available for future exploitation are dominated by the Middle East and Opec, the oil producers' cartel.

Much will depend on how quickly oil consumption increases.

But most analysts think that Opec is likely to account for an increasing share of world supplies.

Now all of a sudden we're in the first steps of normalizing relations with Iran and setting up a mini shop inside their borders? Now all of a sudden we're sitting down at the same table with them?

Something tells me that it ain't because Bush woke up and smelt the coffee. It ain't because Obama and Gates have been pushing for diplomacy with Iran. It ain't because of none of that.

It's the OIL. And if Iran doesn't play ball, they will get the ball taken away from them. The Bush Administration and the folks who have propped them up just want to be at the table with the rest of these countries who have BEEN THERE because they don't want to be left out of the action and they KNOW these others countries will not stand by and allow the U.S. to fuck up their money by way of the energy supply by invading Iran. So, now, the U.S. has to play along, just long enough to convince these other countries that the U.S. would be better trusted with the Iranians' oil rather than a bunch of Iranians trying to acquire "nuclear weapons".

1. Makes sense.....
Considering that for all intents and purposes, the Bush administration has hired the US Military out as free mercenaries to the House of Saud.

KSA is sitting on some of the biggest oil reserves in the world, controlled by a fundementalist Sunni regime that acts like the 800 lb gorilla thoughout the Islamic world. Sunni and Shia do NOT like each other. And Shia countries control the second and third oil reserves.

Well, one of those reserves is now tied up and non-productive, (Iraq). If the Bush administration can help their owners out in the House of Saud by interfering with development and production of the Iranian assets, so much the better. Problem is that the US Military is over-extended, so the military option they wanted isn't on the table, and it runs the risk of drawing other countries in against the US and the House of Saud. So diplomatic interference is the order of the day.

If Sen. McCain wins, chances are that the military option will be back on the table. Sen. Obama doesn't have the oil ties the Bush admin does though, so it sets the stage if he wins to follow though with diplomatic measure - and allows the Bush administration to claim a success for them if it succeeds.
