ive read all sbv threads with glee but i still have one question:
so very sorry if this has been covered already and or is obvious information. i havent been able to find this in the threads so far and i watch no tv. so again i count on all you incredible disseminators and investigators to please tell me:

when did cordier appear in these ads? im confused because unless he appeared in one that started sometime today why would bush & co say they had no idea that cordier was affiliated with the sbv, and then only tonight release the statement they didnt know?

thank you so much

1. That is such a lovely question.
Why, indeed? Perhaps they didn't watch the Smearboat ad. Perhaps it's some kinda rare selective dementia. Perhaps it's prima facie evidence of a felony or three.

Indeedy, 'tis a lovely question.

2. I think he's in the POW ad, yes
He was head of some POW organization that had a big grudge against McCain and Kerry for normalizing relations with Vietnam.

5. Cordier's ad debuted Friday...
...the day Squat McMellon and Marc Racicot swore that there was NO linkage between the Sh*tVets and the Bush campaign. The ad was run all over TV for free for a day and a half. He was listed on the Bush campaigh website until late today as a coordinator of Veterans for Bush--then they yanked his name when people discovered it and it got around on the web.

But it was still in the Google caches and people screen-grabbed it for proof.

BC '04 tried to ditch Cordier this evening with him "leaving the campaign"

Trouble is, Cordier, a campaign "coordinator" shot that ad while still on the campaign's payroll.

The "link" that did not exist, did.

Busted.

7. thank you. i totally agree with what youve written. though i still
dont understand then how could bush (credibly anyway) only tonight issue a statement that they didnt know cordier was affiliated with the group?

it took them 1 1/2 days to decide that?

if they had come out with that statement yesterday then maybe (with emphasis). but to wait???

i thought smearing and sneaking was the only thing this group did "right"

9. Simple...
...they got greedy, sloppy and complacent. Note...regular folks on the net heated up this pan of political Jiffy-Pop. A slew of e-mails went out today to various media sources and voilá! Olberman leads with it (hell, he could be lurking on thse boards trawling for stories), the sh*t hits the fan and Bush and crew throw one over the side for the sharks.

I think the sharks know there more meat in the boat. Chomp! Chomp!

6. Also, just as an FYI, here is the standard of conduct legally.
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 12:13 AM by Lex
.
A 527 organization cannot legally "coordinate" with the campaign, and here is what constitutes a violation:

The conduct standard is met, whether or not there is a formal agreement or formal collaboration, for communications:

* that are made at the request or suggestion of a candidate, campaign, party or their agents, or

* are the result of material involvement of a candidate or campaign in decisions on the content, intended audience, distribution plans, timing or media used, or

* that are created or distributed after substantial discussion about the candidate or party’s plans, projects, activities or needs, or

* that use a vendor that has provided expert services to the candidate or campaign and conveys information about the candidate’s plans, or

* is paid for or uses information from a former employee or consultant of a candidate who conveys material information about the plans, activities or needs of the campaign.

8. Ain't this fun?
I just laid the Cordier primer on another website where I post, and the silence is deafening.

This isn't even the "B" team. You gotta figure the sophomore or freshman team. Point and laugh at the hapless, children.
