MSNBC today (8:00 am CST hour and again in the 9:00 am hour) "How to Attack Obama" with only Repubs.
Republicans are supposedly confused about "How to Attack Obama" so the anchor along with two Republican strategists discuss "How to Attack Obama" - flip flopper, substance-less campaign (excuse me but I muted the bullsh@# at this point).

No Democratic strategist either time to dispute the Republican claims about this terrible Obama guy, just Republicans and the anchor strategizing on the best way to attack Obama.

Wow - that liberal media sure loves it some Obama. :eyes:

It is like the Meet the Press roundtables where they have two RW opinion pundits along with two straight news reporters and that equals "balance" - except in this case there wasn't even a "straight" news reporter included on the "panel".

1. I saw that too, and considered making a post about it.
It was very ,um, non subtle. I wonder if they will have a similar segment with two "dems" later...but yeah, it was strange, they introduced the Republican "strategist" and I was wondering which weak Dem strategist they would have on as a counter, but the second half of the split screen went to...Joe Watkins.

2. I thought it was odd the first time but then they did it again the next hour with
one of the Republican strategists replaced with a DIFFERENT Republican strategist. :wtf:

3. lol, well apparently, The McCain campaign thinks it is getting a raw deal in the coverage department
"The second source of resentment owes to Obama’s treatment by the press, which the McCain people, as did the Clinton people, regard as slavishly biased. “Hillary got worse treatment from the press than anyone since Nixon,” says one McCain strategist. “Now it’s happening to us.”

6. yes, according to Carly fiorina on Meet the Press yesterday
"You can make a soundbyte say anything"

to which Brokaw I think said "Do you think we're making up the quote?"

8. I must have missed the bad treatment for Hillary, when the media crowned her
inevitable, and then propped up the "tough, scrappy underdog" for far too long, and now laments how much it misses her. All while showing Rev. Wright tape loops for weeks on end. Must have missed that.

24. Wow. I must live in Oppositeland then.
The media TOTALLY is sleeping on the job when it comes to McCain. It's like they're afraid to attack him or something. Maybe he won't love them anymore?

What a bunch of assholes. No wonder I've stopped following the election news on cable aside from Countdown.

I took a screenshot of it, from around 8:30 yesterday morning. They're STILL discussing it? Look at these guys yukking it up.

9. Yes. It was "that's not how to attack Obama - THIS is how!"
And what is remembered from the whole segment?

A Michael Richardsesque cartoon about Obama, and a few negative stones thrown his direction.

Good job, New Yorker!! Yeah, I believe you when you say you didn't mean it that way.

11. Exactly. It was a couple of Republicans getting to spew their caricatures of Obama with no one on
the other side to counter anything. It was a "let's brainstorm" about the best ways to take down Obama.

Huh...

My reaction to it being on one time was "whatever, maybe the Democratic strategist didn't show up on time" but when they did it again...

14. Again - obviously every hour today will have two republicans discuss how to attack Obama with
no one to counter the lies they spew. This time it is Joe Watkins and Andrea Tantaos (sp?) - both Republicans. Why McCain is goood and Obama is baaaddddd. More next hour, stay tuned.

16. it's such a talking points storm session!
Why couldn't they just have all 9 rotating Repubs on at the same time, brady bunch style? Lol, with the MSNBC pundit of the hour saying "We need advice, which angle do you think is best for us to concentrate on to go after Obama?"

18. Buchanan says, they need to get his "negatives up to about 51 or 52%...
Since they are admitting what their plan is, to go after Obama negatively in order to try and win an election, why does the press go along with it?? Should that not be a story in itself?? Should not that story be explored more deeply? Why do they simply accept it as status quo??

21. It is ridiculous. I want just as many sessions of two Dems with just an anchor discussing what
McCain's flaws are and how to attack him, etc.

WTF is wrong with MSNBC. Disgusting.

25. Andrea Mitchell ...
on this afternoon ...

Like a Russert interview, when she interviewed Obama supporters, it felt like someone taking a dump, just a viceral negative undertone ... She had on some mealy mouthed R congressman, and her whole tone was so much more relaxed ...

EVERY interview ... The new days polling "SURPRISINGLY" they McCain view McCain as "commander in chief" puting the Obama supporters on the defense, giving McCain supporters a middle of the plate softball ...

It never stops ... Obama and problem, Obama and mistake ... McCain and some postive frame or story ... McCain, REACHING OUT to the middle ... Obama flip flopping ... McCain "going after Obama" on surge ...

Mitchell off and two other bubble heads on MSNBC ... Both talking heads have tried REPEATEDLY to stear NYT reporters to go with Obama bashing/McCain teet sucking and both reporters visibly blanched and, and to their credit stayed with reality ...
