Dumbya stooge quits after appearing in Smear Boat Ad
But the Bush cartel "did not know" he was appearing in the ad.

1. Just because the Bush campaign staffer was in the swift boats ad
doesn't mean the bush campaign and the swiftboat ad people were working together.

4. No seriously.
It could have been the guy's day off, and maybe he thought he was filming a commercial for charity or something. There's lots of good explainations.

12. Exactly
These Swift Boat liars are not only dishonoring Kerry.

They are dishonoring all the men who were in Vietnam with Kerry and have nothing but praise for his heroism.

It must make them sick to see what these guys have been saying.

I know it makes me sick. :puke:

18. Let me get this straight
Calling a Medal of Honor recipient and someone who spent 6 years as a POW, a "Dumbya stooge" and a "dumbass" doesn't dishonor Vietnam vets? If veterans are alienated and their votes go to the other side how is Kerry's cause helped?

20. It doesn't dishonor them...
...any more than an AWOL coke-addled dumbfuck like Bush-Rove having their "stooges" launch a campaign of slander against Kerry. But oh, I forgot, we can slander and impune veterans, as long as they are Democrats. Fuck that. That Medal of Honor recipient is a "dumbass Dubya stooge". Yep, he sure is.

15. Are you aware...
...that Kerry is a Silver Star recipient?

Geeze. If Kerry's Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Hearts don't count for anything, then why should I believe the Medal of Honor counts for something?

24. Show the link for this. His Bio doesn't include Medal of Honor. Silver
Star as highest award.

http://www.okbar.org/news/cordierbio.pdf

Colonel Cordier is a command pilot with more than 2,000 flying hours in fighter type aircraft. His
combat decorations include: the Silver Star with oak leaf cluster; the Legion of Merit;
Distinguished Flying Cross; Bronze Star with combat "V" for Valor; Air Medal with 6 oak leaf
clusters; Prisoner of War Medal and the Purple Heart. He also holds the Defense Superior
Service Medal and 12 other U.S. and foreign awards and decorations.

I also don't notice where it says he was on any Swift Boats during his time flying planes or being a POW.

9. The FEC ruling:
The GOP is caught in handing out Swift Boat pamphlets from their campaign offices and this guy was a senior advisor to the Bush campaign....but, no,...the WH and the Bush had nothing to do with this and had no knowledge. Sure.

Bush is the dirtiest politician this country has ever known.

10. From the CNN article Joanne linked to...
Cordier appeared in a commercial launched Friday by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which has accused Kerry of lying about his Vietnam service. In it, he and other Vietnam veterans accuse Kerry, a decorated Navy officer, of selling out his old comrades by joining the antiwar movement upon his return home.

<snip>

The latest ad, a 30-second spot released Friday, uses segments from Kerry's testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971. In the ad, Kerry says, "They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads," "randomly shot at civilians," and "razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn."

The ad does not include Kerry's preface, in which he said he is reporting what others said at a Vietnam veterans conference. Instead, a swift boat group member refers to the statements as "accusations" Kerry made against Vietnam veterans.

What CNN doesn't say...

About rape:
"During the rampage, the soldiers committed some of their most brutal atrocities, Army records show. A 13-year-old girl's throat was slashed after she was sexually assaulted...

About cutting off ears:
...Former platoon medic Larry Cottingham told investigators: "There was a period when just about everyone had a necklace of ears."...

About cutting off heads:
...and a baby was decapitated so that a soldier could remove a necklace...
Two elderly men killed during an unprovoked attack on a hamlet near Tam Ky. One was beheaded and the other, who was wounded, was shot by medic Barry Bowman in a "mercy killing," he said...

About random shooting of civilians:
In June, an elderly man in black robes and believed to be a Buddhist monk was shot to death after he complained to soldiers about the treatment of villagers...
Two partially blind men found wandering in the valley were escorted to a bend in the Song Ve River and shot to death, records show...
...An elderly man was shot to death by Private Colligan near Chu Lai when the soldier wanted to test a new 38-caliber handgun on a live target, Mr. Fischer said.

About Genghis Khan:
..."We would go into villages and just shoot everybody. We didn't need an excuse. If they were there, they were dead."

I hope Kerry sues 'em for libel. Screw the FEC. :grr:

16. It's the top story at CNN's site
The headline: Bush adviser quits after appearing in swift boat ad.

The key word, of course, is AFTER. This means that Cordier was a Bush adviser before and during his SVBT appearance!

Steve Schmidt, Bush's spokesman, called Cordier "an American hero." Let me get this straight, Steve: you know that Cordier was a "hero," which means you must know what his qualifications for hero-dom are, and yet you didn't know he was in what is this week the most well-known TV ad in America? Do you also expect us to believe that pigs fly?

I hope Kerry really, really clamps down on these guys.

Or is it just "Decorated Vietnam Era Vets Willing to Smear Kerry?"

23. We need some followup news stories showing how Cordier's name
was scrubbed off the Bush campaign website right as the commercial began to appear, and how the "evidence" was removed by updating the Google cache, but not before many enterprising folks documented it.
