So Bernie Mac told a bad joke. The same corporate media that once gave Bernie Mac a sitcom that was filled with bad jokes is now suddenly shocked that Bernie Mac is not very funny. I could have told them he was not funny years ago when they were constantly pushing him on us, but they kept insisting he was until the moment they could use his bad jokes against Obama.
So now while our economy falls apart, people are being slaughtered in Iraq, our gas prices are up to $4.00 a gallon, and the people in the White House are committing criminal acts our media has decided that we should all focus on a bad Bernie Mac joke.
Now if Bernie Mac was writing Obama's policies I would admit that would be pretty fucked up, and I would ask Obama what the hell he was thinking. But Bernie Mac is not writing Obama's policies, and so to be honest I could care less what Bernie Mac has to say about anything.
Only in America can a bad comedian become a campaign issue. I just hope that Obama doesn't decide to have someone from American Idol sing at one of his campaign rallies, because if they go off key at all it would surely become a national scandal.
There is no reason to focus on the issues that face the American people because Bernie Mac effects our lives so much more than those people that are denying us health care do. And just forget about that other candidate who is taking economic advice from a man who thinks everyone who is being squeezed by this economy is a whiner, because that guy doesn't speak for John McCain in the same way that Bernie Mac speaks for Barack Obama.
Oh yeah, and don't forget that Jesse Jackson said the word "nuts".
Can our media coverage of the campaign possibly get any more stupid? I am really afraid to find out the answer to that question.
