VIRGINIA (Public Policy Polling)- Obama 47--McCain 45 _3.3moe_
Sen. Barack Obama leads Sen. John McCain among women in Virginia but trails among men, according to a recent poll.

Among women, Obama led 51 percent to 41 percent with 8 percent undecided, according to the survey by Public Policy Polling. Among men, McCain led with 50 percent to 42 percent for Obama with 8 percent undecided. 42%?? not too bad.

In a gauge of party unity, among Democrats surveyed in the poll, Obama had the support of 78 percent to 17 percent for McCain, with 5 percent undecided.
Overall, Obama led with 47 percent of the vote to 45 percent for McCain, with 8 percent undecided.

Public Policy Polling, based in Raleigh, N.C., surveyed 893 likely voters June 14 and 16. The poll's margin of error was plus or minus 3.3 percentage points. --

3. They are holding it back with everything they have
at least here in central VA (Richmond Petersburg) not only do you have the Times-Disgrace burying the Senate Phase II report on page A7 (beside a huge cell phone ad) but the local news barely covers anything about Obama (can't let the groupthink know it is okay to like him) AND the "South's first TV station" CBS affiliate just got bought by Sinclair.

The surprise around here will soon be replaced with outrage...and the rest of the state will continue to laugh at us.

4. underpants, nobody at my house is going to laugh at you.
Virginia has been dazzling lately for Democrats.

We had Kaine, then Webb over Cement-Head Allen, and lately M. Warner looks good in that Senate race, plus Obama doing well in recent polling.

It seems to me that you folks are doin' it right. Bravo.

7. Ain't it the shitz, underpants? I've lived here in Richmond for 15 years,
and I just shake my head at the Times-Disgrace -- it shouldn't be allowed to call itself a newspaper. But I grew up with the St. Pete Times, which has won 10 of every award available due to its excellence. To read the 'news' in the Disgrace is to boil your eyeballs in oil. And the way people here fall for every RW tactic, no matter how transparent -- well, let's just say I'm not impressed with the average Richmonder's intelligence.

12. The letters to the editor are quite humorous in their freeperness...
It will be so sweet if VA goes Blue this year.

17. Yep, the LTTEs def raise my blood pressure. Just to realize, as a
horrific part of every horrific day, that such morons populate my immediate area makes me want to :puke:

It will be sweet if VA goes blue, but it will only be due to the influence of N VA, I think. I also expect the more Dem voting precincts to be shorted the number of voting machines they need to process the crowds. We'll see.

16. "From Wire Reports"
that is my fave.

the best part is when you already know the story and read it danced around but never mentioned by the T-D

Their two political writers "Tyler Whitley" (seriously?) and Shapiro are horrific. BTW-Politicos Mike Allen got his start at the T-D

I could go on but for the love of god what part of "retired" does H.Ross Mackenzie not get?

6. So that's the phrase! "Sea change?"

I've only heard people say it, and I couldn't figure out what it meant really.

How does a sea change though?

8. The General Meaning is 'a Long-Term Transformation.'
Apparently, it was coined by Shakespeare in 'The Tempest':
Nothing of him that doth fade,
But doth suffer a Sea-change
Into something rich, & strange.

We've been trending that way for a while.

18. Great news, and with PPP being based out of NC. They are pretty close to the action
and probably have an even better perspective of what's going on. K & R. I also believe we will take NC.
