Poll question: Okay, so what' the single most important issue in this election?
Edited on Fri Jun-27-08 11:15 AM by smoogatz
I've put them in my own order of importance. What's your #1? How about your #2, 3, & 4? What have I left out?

1. The ECONOMY! The economy includes gas prices, food prices,
dropping real estate values, the crashing of the stock market, job losses, closing businesses, etc! There's nothing I can think of that it doesn't affect! The truest words ever spoken were "It's the economy STUPID!"

2. There are three "most important" issues. War, War, and War.
Until we are totally withdrawn from Iraq, nothing else matters a whit.

3. Exactly.
Can't fix anything until we stop hemmoraging cash and blood in Iraq.

6. Healthcare? I guess not.
The insurance companies are going to continue bending us 360° around the barrel regardless.

20. Exactly. It's not as simple as a, b, or c. It's how a affects b, and b affects c, etc.

12. Ending the war in Iraq will also be beneficial in many other areas of concern.
It will reduce oil consumption, stop the bleeding of the deficit, calm the Middle East, and allow us to focus on imprisoning Bush, Cheney, and all their little cohorts for the rest of their miserable lives.

14. Every issue is connected to the issue of Open Government. Make OpGov a priority and you'll see how
eaily other issues can be dealt with, since the biggest obstacle all other issues faced was the continuing secrecy and privilege of those protected by closed government - EVERY other issue.

15. The economy WILL be, but the war & worldwide diplomacy SHOULD be.
I'm just looking forward to Obama getting sworn in and talking to all other countries on this earth about getting along with each other and working out our differences. I think he can do it or at least make a good start in the process.

16. Probably getting out of Iraq
Ending the war in Iraq helps the economy, and helping the economy will help pay for healthcare.

Plus it will help solve foreign policy problems, and may lead to a reduction in the price of oil.

17. Had to go for climate change -- if we don't survive, the rest won't matter.
But actually the most important issue is getting the GOP out of control of government.

19. I voted climate change
but you are missing (though I understand many of these issues are inter-related) human rights worldwide, including women's rights. IMO.

22. So, housing/foreclosure crisis.
Make that number 11, although it's kind of tied into the big-picture slow-motion meltdown that's on the horizon.
