Obama has said repeatedly that we are the change we seek. I believe him. He has said that the campaign is our campaign. I believe him. This Saturday I'm attending two Unite for Change meetings in my area and I'm going to collect signatures on petitions to ask Obama to reconsider his position on FISA. As a grassroots supporter of Senator Obama, I see it as necessary and important.
We have been led to believe that the grass roots may have some input, some place at the table under an Obama administration. This is the perfect opportunity to make our voices heard and to find out if that is indeed the case.
My petitions will be simple and to the point.
Dear Senator Barack Obama; we the undersigned supporters of your presidential campaign, gathered this June 2008 weekend at our local Unite for Change meetings ask you to reconsider your position on FISA. We believe the current 'compromise' legislation to be an unwise compromise of our 4th amendment Constitutional rights.
We call on you to address the arguments put forth by the ACLU concerning the legislation and we ask that you respond point by point and specifically to their concerns with this legislation. Thank you for your reconsideration of this important issue. GObama!
I encourage anyone and everyone to go to the URL below, find your local Unite for Change meeting and collect signatures on a similar petition and to send them into the campaign. We are the change we seek!

By Christopher Hass - Jun 24th, 2008 at 9:16 pm EDT
One year ago, our grassroots supporters organized a nationwide canvass in more than 1,000 cities to introduce their neighbors to Barack Obama.
This weekend, Obama supporters will be opening their homes to people in their communities for Unite for Change meetings -- in over 3,000 homes, in all 50 states. The goal is to come together -- as Democrats who supported other candidates in the primary, as well as Independents and even Republicans -- to unite behind common values and build a volunteer organization in cities and towns across the country.
You can find a meeting near you and RSVP today.
It doesn't matter if you've been with us since the beginning or if you're just tuning into the process now, our goal is to reach out to anyone who is tired of the politics of the past and looking for new solutions to the challenges we're facing.
All you need to do is show up on Saturday -- and maybe bring a friend or two.
