Pic of the crowd at McCain's townhall meeting in St. Paul tonight.
A pic of the huge, enthusiastic crowd of people who are fired up and ready to go!

I hear there was no line to get in, because it is so orderly.

The free butterscotch candies would be worth the wait, if there was a wait.

It really is spectacular - I always enjoyed the space, even when the ladies' restroom on the 4th floor flushed hot water!

You might get some folks to show up there. Or Utah.

Most other states are crapshoot for you, if Obama has not already nailed them down.

12. I doubt McGrumpypants would draw much of a crowd here in AZ.
The people who know him can't stand him and most everyone else has lived here less than 10 years so they don't know anything about him. Barack has drawn big crowds here and would easily get 50000 or more during the general.

27. Thanks.
You know, I was canvassing for a State Senate candidate back in '06 and I had a few voters ask if she was running against John McCain. More recently, I've had to tell voters that McCain is actually their Senator here in AZ. They didn't know what state he was from! :wow:

We got a funny mix of characters in this here state, don't we?

god love her - she votes Democrat though. I can LOL at this one....but the Blackground comment, was good. Obama's crowd is a complete mix bag of people. He doesn't have to stage diversity. McBush, couldn't even muster up some paid 'diversity', his *OWN* staff couldn't hussle anyone in, even with cash. The other KKK members might complain I suppose........I've seen racism, than I've seen racism in the Southern US. Being white myself, white racsist never take issue with refering to it in front of you, assuming that your matching skin colour is your matching bag of hate too. Rather sickening isn't it.

Passing thought.....

Fuck, if S.A. could have Mandela, we should be able to get Obama!

GOBAMA 08!

60. My grandmother used to stuff her purse with anything she could find.
She even got caught "stealing" food from the buffet at my bar mitzvah.

One of the caterers saw her and asked, "Ma'am, would you like me to wrap some up for you to take home?"

She pulled back and defensively yelled, "No! Leave me alone!" and went back to sneaking food into her purse.

Even on her death bed, she was stuffing her purse full of sweet 'n' low from the hospital tray.

And when it arrived the crowd outside the Landmark Center was tiny, no more than a hundred people tops. Compare this to the Obama event a couple weeks ago when I waited in a line that was over a mile long to get in, I was about half a mile back in that mile long line and I just barely got in and there were over 15,000 still in line when the doors closed. I think it is easy to see which candidate gets people the most enthused.

From the later pics, I'm estimating he had about 150 in attendance, total.

This article says 200 but that seems a bit of an overestimate:

65. this was funny:
Carla Jefferson of Golden Valley, Minn., also scored a ticket to the McCain Town Hall.

Jefferson usually votes for Democrats and originally supported Hillary Clinton for president. However, she says she is open to voting for McCain, because she considers him a liberal Republican.

Jefferson brought her son Sam to the event as well. He is leaning toward Obama, but said he could be persuaded by McCain tonight. At only 14 years old, he is too young to vote, though.

1: wtf is a liberal republican? is that anything like a compassionate conservative? if so, no thanks

2: i hope carla didn't beat poor sam into submission- she should be arrested for child abuse just for making him go to that dried-up shit
