Poll question: For NBDs: How many smoke marijuana on a regular basis
This poll is for people who would declare themselves as NBDers.

A very small, yet vocal sect on DU.

And welcome to DU. :hi:

the last time I felt compelled in any way to support Dean was when I was very stoned, the last time I smoked pot

Emotions overtake logic alot more when you are high or discuss politics or other issues with others more often than not, under the influence of something

5. That's interesting
I don't smoke pot, but the only time my support for Dean ever wavered was a couple of months ago at my 34th birthday party, when I decided to spearhead my own "Draft Hillary" movement after sniffing a bunch of glue.

Jack Daniels and a half gram of Afghani hash. That was last year, on my 64th birthday.

But as I contemplated life, hungover and humbled, the next day (this was a bit of a chore since I was vomiting from time to time into the kitchen waste basket), I decided: why vote at all?

The whole damned lot wasn't worth anything, and on DU I'd read enough sordid tidbits of information that none of them seemed worth the time it would take to get in the Cadillac and drive to the caucus.

13. Joke if you must
But as a Dean supporting ABB heroin addict, I feel discriminated against that MY demographic wasn't represented in this poll.

14. Nobody put hash or Jack in the poll either--
so I couldn't vote, but I don't mind.

I'm through with voting. I do, however, feel sympathetic. Bring your huff on over and we can commiserate.

17. Yes, voting is for assholes
I'm not voting until they put up a poll about how many Dean supporters engage in autoerotic asphyxiation. In other words, I'm talking ISSUES!

12. You're going to have to set up a poll
in order to determine the answer to this question with any sort of scientific accuracy. Because as we all know, DU polls are highly scientific.

20. the only time I wavered in my support for Dean
It happened when someone put pot in my drink. Ya see, I was at this bar. It was, ummmmmmmm I don't know maybe 15 or 20 years ago. I had been a faithful NBDer since 1st grade in 1963. But them in my lat 20s I developed this BAD habit of going to bars.
I remember the place was smokey, smokey and blue like a Sad Billie Holiday song. I had ummmmmmmm relations the night before and after drinking a large cranapple and wine spritzer, I ordered another and headed for the ladies room. Heh, ladies is not a term to throw around lightly about the broads that frequent that bar. They were the kind of ladies who sound like Merv Griffin and look like Ann Coulter.
But I am getting off topic here. Truth is while I was gone, someone, possibly a Clark supporter, put pot in my drink and for several wild and crazy hours my support of Dean wavered.
Check back tomorrow when we continue with the story of how I gave up despair and indoctrination and learned to love Howard Dean.

bag of cocain ex-pres B* Sr. held up during one of his tv speeches?
Well, he sent it to someone I used know after the show. That's right. I think his very touch imbued it with a more divine psychedelic experience for everyone who bought a little bag, even after someone I used to know cut it with unpresidential baby powder.

22. That's horrible!
That reminds me of an experience I had in 1992. I was at a party drinking sloe gin fizzes. Someone must have put something in my drink because the next thing I remember was waking up in the bathroom with my pants missing and a "Stockdale for Veep" t-shirt tying my hands behind my back.

1992 Debating Our Destiny Transcript
PBS Program

ROSS PEROT: I don't have any experience in running up a $4 trillion debt. I don't have any experience in gridlock government, where nobody takes responsibility for anything and everybody blames everybody else.

GOVERNOR CLINTON: When Joe McCarthy went around this country attacking people's patriotism, he was wrong. He was wrong. And a Senator from Connecticut stood up to him named Prescott Bush. Your father was right to stand up to Joe McCarthy. You were wrong to attack my patriotism. I was opposed to the war but I love my country and we need a President who will bring this country together, not divide it. We've got enough division. I want to lead a unified country.

PRESIDENT BUSH: I think it's wrong to demonstrate against your own country or organize demonstrations against your own country in foreign soil. I just think it's wrong. Maybe they say, well, it's a youthful indiscretion. I was 19 or 20 flying off an aircraft carrier, and that shaped me to be Commander in Chief of the armed forces. And I'm sorry, but demonstrating -- it's not a question of patriotism. It's a question of character and judgment. Some say, well, you're a little old-fashioned. Maybe I am, but I just don't think that's right.

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Can we focus on the issues and not the personalities and the mud? I think there is, there is a need, if we can take a poll here, with the folks from Gallup perhaps, I think there is a real need here to focus at this point on the needs.
