Olbermann: Tomorrow Bush is going to ask Congress to let states lift moratorium on offshore drilling
Edited on Tue Jun-17-08 09:44 PM by flpoljunkie
Evidently, Bush, McCain and our own governor Charlie Crist are working this con game together.

The price of gasoline has gone through the roof since Bush took office. This is a win win for the Bush/Cheney oil and gas administration.

They are using the high price of gasoline, which earns Exxon Mobil and the other big oil companies huge profits, to con the American people into letting them drill off our coasts. They won't get ANWR, but this is the next best thing for the greedy bastards.

We will have to make our voices heard. We cannot drill our way out of oil dependence.

1. And you wonder why the price of oil is sky rocketing...
To make the people clamor for off shore drilling.

As soon as they announce that they are going to drill in these areas and have leases all sewn up tight as polyester slacks Mayor and Mrs. Big Cheese, the price will slip about ten percent and the people will fall in love all over again with Bush and his band of thugs. They will, mark my words, sell out the environment for .40 cents a gallon.

4. Crist must not want to have another term as governor.
That's political suicide. Even the republicans in Florida flip out when they start talking about drilling down there.

6. They're all in it together; oil prices are no accident.
Have you noticed the feel-good 'green' commercials telling us we have enough oil and natural gas right here to last another 50 years? They've been promoting what Bush will propose for months; throwing propoganda at the American public so they'll agree to allow offshore drilling and worse.

Oil from anywhere is not the answer. People need to stop thinking this way - we need to get the fuck away from the stuff.

7. Despite the fact that the oil companies have over 6000 leases they haven't tapped into!
There is no gas shortage, there's only greed and hoarding.

8. This runup in gas prices is Cheney's last hurrah....his very last chance
to get offshore drilling and drilling in Anway going before he leaves office. I've believed he's been manipulating this for months.....getting prices to a point where people are going to request that damned drilling.
