Where exactly did Cindy McCain take the prescription drugs from?
I've seen it referenced that she took them from somewhere, I'm assuming she went to rehab instead of jail....

I know if I took drugs from somewhere I'd wind up in jail, so I'm curious about this....

1. The charity she founded to supply to the needy
and when a member of management found out what she was up to she fired him.

4. Unless you're a dealer
And even then, you usually don't go to prison. Yes, even if it's a felony drug conviction.

8. Pssht, worked in treatment for years
I recall one first time offender actually going to prison over drug dealing and that's because he was hauling it across several states and wouldn't give up the names of his connections. Most people get treatment and deferred sentences.

7. Here's a short, snappy wrap-up, worth bookmarking:
You're U.S. Senator John McCain, and you've got a big problem.
Your wife, Cindy, was addicted to prescription painkillers. She stole pills from a medical-aid charity she heads and she used the names of unsuspecting employees to get prescriptions.

The public is about to find out about it.
Until now, you've managed to keep it all quiet. When Tom Gosinski, a man your wife fired, sued for wrongful termination and threatened to expose the whole sordid story, you didn't hesitate to call in the big guns.

John Dowd, the attorney who got you out of your Keating Five mess, worked on getting your wife a sweetheart deal with federal prosecutors. He also made Gosinski's lawsuit go away.

The "charity" is/was named the American Voluntray Medical Team: more here:
