MSNBC would have been better had they put a Woman on the panel
of men who just cannot understand what this means.. they should have put Rachel Maddow next to them through this discussion...

5. Olberman couldn't help himself: still bashed Hillary some more
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 12:34 PM by Julius Civitatus
It wasn't cool, specially when Hillary was giving such a heartfelt speech, inequivocally endorsing Obama.

Olberman's raging Hillary-hate and Clintonitis have reached critical mass.
He should have that checked out. It can't be good.

34. Olbermann did NOT bash Hillary
He was going out of his way to be as gracious as possible. They were talking about how her speech would be one for the ages. They even prepped the audience for the potential 'suspension' of her campaign as being a tactical maneuver and not trying to rain on Obama's nominee status. MSNBC is in the tank for the Democratic Party, period, and it's a great thing.

29. No he didn't, stop lying.
He kept praising her 6-minute frame in her speech as being one for the ages. If you thought they were hating on Hillary, you obviously didn't see the FOX News or ABC reactions. Olbermann had NOTHING but praise for Hillary BEFORE and AFTER her speech.

right after the speech he started ruminating that she hadn't praised Obama strongly enough. Tweety and Moonface smacked him down and he only then changed his tune.

Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 12:40 PM by BerryBush
And those of you who are upset they don't have a woman at the anchor desk, sheesh. They have women all over the place. Rachel's making a great sub for Keith and someday may even have her own show. She could be at that desk someday.

Please, enough with the "MSNBC is sexist" crap.

Edited to add: At least when MSNBC hires women, they're not all blond bimbos wearing short skirts like on Fixed Noise.

edited to add: Why CAN'T men "understand"? Do you think they lack all gift of empathy? Yikes.

It should play at 5 and repeat at 7 like his does :)

I saw a new commercial for the David Gregory show. It was so pathetic "We don't just talk about random issues. We talk about real issues that affect people." ISSUES? You have got to be shitting me, Gregory.

Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 02:02 PM by krkaufman
... as approach. Change the approach and suddenly MSNBC would have just as many "qualified" female competitors for their host positions.

If you're still reading, the problematic approach that MSNBC, and all the news media, has is one of bloviating, testosterone-driven blowhards, and the Right Wing and male personality is more well-suited to this style of host. Rachel Maddow has carved a niche for herself not by being a blowhard but by being substantially more intelligent and quick-witted than her blowhard competitors (see: Buchanan, Carlson, Matthews).

My hope is that Rachel is the first sign of a shift in MSNBC's approach, a change that will lead towards a more intelligent, representative approach. (And I'm regularly communicating my hopes to MSNBC.)
